MPG on a built in transmission

I bought this Toyota Yaris 2009 16K miles on it auto with power locks doors MP3 for $9,600+TTL

Later on I learned that transmission was rebuilt not original, engine is fine and good. So dealer cheated me but I signed the As is form so can not do much on this.

Anyways, car runs smooth but do you guys think MPG will be alot different than the original same cars? In other words is the engine or transmission the bigger factor in MPG?

Depends on the quality of the rebuild and install. If everything was done properly you shouldn't be able to tell it from a new one. When you posted the price I thought it sounded really low. What kind of mpg are you getting and how does the transmission act? Does everything seem ok with it?

If the transmission work was done by a decent company than it should be as good or better than when it came off the factory floor. Your gas mileage would not change unless they did something off the wall to it.

So you feel that you were cheated because the dealer did not tell you everything that was done to the car? Do you think the person that sold them the car told them everything about the car?

I wouldn't be surprised if the selling dealer knew nothing about it. Unless they did the work, how would they?

well first of all I wasn't intended to buy a car with rebuilt transmission, I am cheated.

Dealer did not tell me te truth. I looked at the odometer and it was only 15K and I knew that Toyota will cover all expenses till 36K miles unless there is an accident

So I took it to a body shop and they opened the hood and trunk and doors and looked all over and could not find anything

So I thought this is a good deal cuz if there is any problem toyota would fix it for free.

I paid all cash came home, 1 week later transmission was making a little noise so I took it to a nearby toyota dealer. After 2 hours they came back and said, the car was in an accident such that only front fender not hood, transmission and radiator was replaced. Engine was fine and everything else is fine. But still, I felt so bad you won't believe.

So, I called the dealer I bought the car from, their first response "you signed as is form", at that moment I knew I was in trouble.

Now I am trying to find a lawyer to help me. Anyway, my questions are

1) Does Toyota honor waranty on other parts of the car in this case?

2) The car runs great and there is only little humming noise while accelerating but I am not sure if transmission will last years. How much would it cost to get a certified mechanic to rebuilt or get a new Toyota transmission? I am seeing ads like rebuilt tranmission with 7 years warranty. Are these accurate?

sorry to see that . The low price of $9,600 for an '09 with less than 16,000 miles would make me think something wasn't well . Possibly you could get the tranny looked at under the 3 year / 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty . No cost to you since it's transferred to you . May have to take it to several TOYOTA service centers . Some are more understanding and cooperative than others . Good Luck .

DO THIS....Take all your paperwork to your local BEST TV Station. Here we have the ACTION REPORTER...ask them to help you ...they can and they need fillers for their station. DO IT NOW....The TV broadcast action reporter went to the dealership and applied so much pressure they gave the lady back all of her money.....in her case they sold her a car that had been underwater...you have a great complaint....do it now...and good luck

Was the accident not on the CARFAX report? Or you bought a used car without looking at it?? If that's the case and you signed an as-is contract, you have no case. But toyota should still fix it if something goes wrong before 3 yrs/36 k miles, regardless of accidents and transfer of ownership.

we got a car due to using CARFAX and it showed it had a good history . Come to find out the car was in a wreck . Someone noticed overspray after we bought it . The car came from a car rental company . Many times these are repaired by their own shop . CARFAX is far from perfect . We once test drove a new 2001 PRIZM that had hit a deer when drove by a car sales person on his way home . The dent was in the front fender . This CHEVY dealership had its own body shop . Quite sure they repaired it and never made the buyer of that car aware .

Is this bad? Toyota Yaris has not been around many years. So how old can Toyota Yaris transmission be?

Also, can we sue carfax for not reporting the truth?

Am I supposed to report this accident to carfax?

I just learned that Carfax has a autobuy back system meaning if carfax did not report the accident in their document you can get your money back %110

Had I known this, I would have purchased Autofax at the time of sale and I could get my money back now, but dealer did not tell me

Depending on the state you live in, the dealer had a responsibility to disclose the vehicle's true state.

I would think hiring an attorney is a very good idea. They will take the car back and refund your money, plus attorney fees. They talk tough, but they are very afraid of going to court and gambling on the possibility of paying a lot of money in damages.

I called and emailed probably 10 lawyers and NONE of them got back to me
