Its amazing that such an inexpensive little car can be so nice. I have an Expedition in addition to my hatch. Both have their merits.

I would've definitely kept SUV if I could afford to. But maneuverability and gas mileage of Yaris make sure I don't miss the big boy. Yet.

40MPG vs 15MPG - gotta love the difference...

Congrats! I'm right behind you! Just got a final price on an automatic sedan to be purchased sometime next month (they have to do a query and see if they can get the one I want). I've been driving a Saturn L200 for the last 4 years and in city driving I'm lucky to get 21mpg, usually around 20, despite the 24mpg city rating. :( My job requires that I drive quite a bit around the county, so a 15+ mpg boost from what I was getting is an awesome prospect! :D

Welcome, came from a Wrangler so I feel your pain! 40 is just the start though, using Scangauge II you can constantly monitor your rpms and mpg in "real time." Using it gives you the ability to feather the gas pedal just right and pull high 40's pretty easy at 70-75ish some people can pull even better.

true. i always see folks driving around in those big tahoes or excursions and it's only 1 person in there.

Well as acrbill said, both SUVs and subcompacts have their advantages.
But being me - single with no kids living in Los Angeles, 80% of the time driving in downtown or on freeways - Yaris reeeeally takes the cake, brother.:smile:

You know I love my Yaris, altho When I do a 300 mile road trip or more I take the Tacoma, Sure Mileage is a bit worse but I feel and hear the road a whole lot less. My truck is my suv,Crewcab prerunner with lots of tire where the Yaris has well more rim then my truck.:rolleyes:
