Hi,

I waxed my car the other day in preparation for the Winter season. I noticed from door guard rubber protectors I installed are seeping from the adhesive from the summer heat.

They are very gunked and gooey. What is the best solution... products to clean up without ruining the paint? When I clean it up... I'll wax the small area.

Any help would be much appreciated...

Cheers!

Alcohol! At least, that's what I'd use. Very small amounts, mind you. Just enough to get the stuff off with a bit of rubbing.

The strongest thing I have ever seen that is safe on paint is Acrysol.

Thanks for all the replies! :headbang:

I went to my local Wally World the other day. They have a big bottle of Goo Gone! They do not carry 3M Adhesive Remover... the employee said that would be on an industrial level? PA cannot carry it, he said? I mentioned Acrysol? He had no idea what I was talking about...

So, I will probably pick up the Goo Gone next week and use it before old man Winter comes...

Cheers!

Goo-Gone is a wonder, for sure. I just put it on and let it sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe off. I don't think I ever had a thing that didn't come off.
