But somehow i think that price is ridiculous. Any idea from what insurance company?

seems a little steep, but then again, you are under 25. that seems to be the magic number for insurance companies. the wifey and i pay $2K a year for a 2006 sienna xle, a 2007 yaris LB, and a 1997 avalon xls, full coverage. we use AAA, which means we arent paying the lowest price either, but we absolutely love and recommend their customer service. we could prolly go with mercury or geico and save a couple hundred bucks. my $0.02

I'm about to leave Progressive ...
E-Surance and Geico are the cheapest for me and insurance is a pain in the ass in NY.

Hey,
Shop around all insurance companies use your credit history and age factors for your auto insurance rates. All companies handle the pricing differently. Go to netquote.com or do a general search for multiple insurance quotes finder.
Insurance rates under age 25 with activity is expensive. No doubt about it. FYI: The additional premium for the cite will drop after 3 yrs.
Good luck.

depends on who your carrier is. mine is pretty high, but it's lower with the Yaris compared to my previous car, a '97 GTI.

Just switched to Geico .. I don't have the best of driving records so I pay a steep price being here in NY. I'm now paying $228/month for 4 months this semester (with a 1 month down payment of $313). Deff. saved a bunch of cash though because this is with the 240SX also (was paying $259/month with just the one car previously).

best thing you can do is shop around online. companies will give everyone different premiums based on age, credit, driving record, area, etc. went from a 6 month premium of 1400 to 600 just by shopping around.

I'm 21 and pay 130/month for my 07 Yaris Sedan, 95 Ford Taurs and 87 Toyota 4-Runner. The Yaris is the only full coverage. In Colorado.
It's crazy how much you will pay for insurance, the Yaris has minimal HP.

I don't think i'm gonna go with FULL Coverage again. way too much for me.
it is a good idea to have not full coverage for your car? I'm thinking about remove the medical fees too see how much it will go down.

Hey guys,
I'm a insurance agents in Washington State. Believe me paying the additional premium for the full coverage is worth it. I'm not going to tell you what to do, but use google to do your research. Enter insurance for young drivers. Good luck.
FYI: Your insurance rate has little to do with the Yaris, its all age and credit history. Again good luck.

Well one that my bro ended up getting some how in my name. The freaking police officer believed him that he was me driving his truck. Plus I wear glasses he doesnt and he is 4 years older than me. it says like 205pounds on my liscense and he is has never been over 190 and that was when he had been working out for 2 years.

I'm with Safeco...
can't wait to get away from them though.
Currently I'm at $1147.40/year for full coverage with the state minimums. That breaks to $95.62/month on my 2004 Dodge SRT-4 which is being traded in on Monday night for a 2007 Yaris S.
The cost per year on the Yaris S for me is $1012 which includes vehicle replacement for a year and gap coverage after that...whereas I don't have that now. That breaks to $84.33/month.
That coupled with lower gas prices (regular versus premium), lower car payments, by $100/month ($16someoddK for 72 months with $0 down, hey! It's a Toyota, it'll last forever!) and higher gas mileage by 2x. The maintenance will be included in the contract as well, at least for 4 years, so no out of pocket costs
So, I'd say since I'm trying to save some money until the wife gets out of dental school, the Yaris will do just fine for me...as long as I stay out of the engine bay.
...I do have to upgrade the "Big 3" and replace the factory battery though...
Sorry, sound quality guy. :)
Dang Peter! That Thule rack on top of your liftback is almost bigger than your car! Sort of funny. You should make it look like a little missile launcher for the hell of it on Halloween or April fools day.

well, the worst quote I ever had was 6 months after my accident that was 4 years ago, I got a quote for 10,500/year for a 4 door auto civic, I think it was an 03... then when I moved here it was 4800$ for PLPD only on my car before the Alberta Government semi-regulated insurance
Here in Thailand you get your first years full coverage insurance thrown in with the car (this is standard for all makes/models of passenger cars), but the cost for renewing is about USD $460/year if you don't have a no claim bonus. Mine will cost USD$320 to re-insure next year :)
