New Yaris 1.3 vvti cvt dynamic.

Hello fellow Yaris drivers.

My boyfriend has his Yaris just over 2 weeks right now.

It is a 1.3 petrol with a cvt transmission.

The dynamic is a very complete edition with 16 inch rims, roofspoiler, foglights in front, dual climate control, armrest (front), smart entry system, rear parking camera, Toyota touch&go navigation and multimedia system, stop/ start system, rain/ light sensor, in height adjustable front seats, sport suspension etc, etc.

It drives great and it drives better than my Yaris diesel i have to say.
That is mainly because its very comfortable at higher speeds.
When you've reached 120 km/h on the highway it makes just over 2000 rpm.
You experience driving in this car as in a much bigger car but still have the benefits of a smaller car for example city driving and fuel efficiency.

It was a long way to buy this car.
In august '11 he bought a Prius (2009). During the test drive we've heard a rattle and made the deal with the salesmen that the rattle should be fixed.
That didn't happen eventually. Prius sold.

Than we bought a Ford Fiësta (2011) a new one.
Good car at first. But the first morning after we got the car from the dealer there was a strange sound coming from the engine.
Almost everything replaced in the car but no solution. We got a rental car, a new Ford Fiësta with the same sound. Fiësta sold.

Back to Toyota and a great car it is :headbang:

There's no 1.5 available in the Netherlands.

For now the 1.0, 1.3 petrol and 1.4 diesel and over a few months the hybrid.

I don't know if there's a t-sport coming.

Forget the 1.5L version. When you have the 1.0, 1.3, and diesel engine variants, who needs the 1.5 engine? If they offered such a wide variety here in the States, I'd pick a smaller or diesel engine every time. Better gas mileage equals money saved and less dependence on foreign sources of energy.

Wish we had the option of a diesel out in my neck of the woods. I love me a diesel, and that one looks sick!

maybe in new york, where there are crazy amounts of people. The only time I've driven through new york in my Yaris it was 8am on a Sunday morning. I think there were maybe a dozen other cars total on the road.

But i've never had problems merging, just time it right and all is good.

But i think driving conditions here are not comparable with the USA.

I have a diesel Yaris and i drives great but you pay much more roadtaxes. The price of diesel less expensive than petrol but several times more expensive than in the US.

1st question: yes it's a stop start system. The first stop start system in combination with a automatic gearbox over here.

2nd question: even the most basic model has esp and traction control for example and 7 airbags.

It's a cvt gearbox. Just like the Prius has for example.
But it works better than in the Prius in my opinion.

yea that is what it it, if you just through your car in front of another in the US they'd hit you and sue you for all you are worth. Getting a license is really easy over here and people are flat out jerks at best.

Yea from what I know y'all pay a ton more in taxes on the car than we do in the US. For example i just paid the yearly excise tax (road tax) on my 2007 and it was $27.

Went to the showroom today was fairly disappointed to see Japanese vitz "Jewela"
without steering con,no auto climate control,no tachometer and of course no ESP

It's a cvt gearbox. Just like the Prius has for example.
But it works better than in the Prius in my opinion.

I did test drive the 1,3 auto gear yaris, and I must say ( well I did know it was going to be like this due to the volume of the engine but not as bad ) it's really slow to accelerate once you stop the vehicle and accelerate again.

Also, the dynamic package, it's the one with the 16'' right? Which means you have those " special " 205 tyres? The specs say the 16'' rims with the 205 tyres actually have an increased petrol consumption and much worse turning radius which was quite notable , hence why I went with Active.

The rear camera , foglights touch multimedia station, and start/stop function came in as well. All the other components can be added as well ( and if your lucky like me and know the mechanic you can do the installation much cheaper and get the complete car cheaper but that's just random luck, this is also the reason I didn't go for the dynamic version as I will add the wing, the arm rest , led lights for a very very low price ^_^ ) but mainly I didn't go for the dynamic or style version due to the increased consumption, otherwise it was great fun driving it and the gearbox was fairly quick to respond once you actually were driving and to a fellow asking if it's trip tronic , it's auto/ and semi manual, even comes with floppys! Which is always fun! :wink:

Oooh! It's nice. I like that the gauges are black even with the tachometer.
That's why I went with the LE instead of SE here. The SE had white gauges.
EYELIDS! You should get them. =P

Thanks Septembersrain! White gauges can be nice too but not on this Yaris though. In my Yaris there are red stitches on the steering wheel and the shifter. This Yaris is mine right now! My boyfriend has a new Renault Twingo and my previous Yaris diesel is gone! The gearbox was broken after 170.000 kms! I think the dealer sold me this Yaris with the knowledge that there was something wrong with the gearbox..

Welcome back to Toyota. My neighbor traded in a Pontiac G6 for a new Fiesta (re fuel efficiency because she now has a little one to raise). The Fiesta has been reliable so far, but there's something about it that promotes an uneasy feeling. I think getting rid of the Fiesta was a smart move......and of course buying the Yaris was a smart move :biggrin:.
