Just purchased a certified used Yaris, 2yrs old with only 8k miles. Got a great price on the car but didn't do my research and bought an expensive warranty. Now two days later trying to cancel it through Toyota Financial (the whole thing is financed) but they said the application is not entered yet. I guess I have to wait until the dealer mails the paperwork to Toyota so the warranty is registered before I can even cancel it...
No way I'm going back to this dealer to cancel it on the spot, prefer doing it directly through Toyota like many other forum members have done. Any recent warranty cancellation experience?

Dont wait any more! You have go to the dealer and ask redo the contract. If you are going to wait, they are going to charge you. It happened to me back in 2011 with my Prius.

All dealer does the same. When you making purchase, everything will be okay. When you canceling, everything is going charge on you. Good luck!

My understanding is that Toyota will apply the refund towards principal. The dealership is too far from me and I wouldn't wanna talk to anyone there ever again so I'd rather cancel the warranty though Toyota Financial.

If Toyota Financial will cancel the warranty, and apply the amount to the principal, I would do that. Once they claim this has been done, I would also require paperwork from Toyota Financial that confirms they actually completed this as promised.
