hi
you get a forum for everything these days,
what i want to know is,ive got a 99/00 yaris and it has that thing that tells you what you current mpg, your average mpg and your average speed, thing is the average mpg thing, how acurate is it? it seems to start at 0 then just got up to 50ish then carry on goin, and im driving along thinking yeah man thats great nice n cheap but is it actually telling the truth?

I'd base my MPG more off of my mileage and what I've put on the car since the last tank up. Do that a few times and you'll have a good idea of what you're actually getting. I never trust the onboard computer ones because of the different things they factor in. I once got 80mpg in a 91 Dodge Caravan.

yeah there's nothing as accurate as doing the calculations yourself :smile:

I wonder what the computer tells you when you're going down the hill in neutral... You know, when you're doing 70 mph with 700 RPM.
