I rented a yaris for a business trip and loved it. I couldnt wait to get back home and buy one. Thus it begins....I have visited all of the toyota dealers in my area between dayton and cincinnati. Ive gotten conflicting stories as to the why but the long story short is that they are telling me that the yaris has been discontinued in favor of the new corolla and that my only option to get one is to find a dealer that has it on the lot. But I want a SE loaded, I told him. Not possible to order but for a $500 deposit he would find one at a dealer and if I didnt mind it having 500 or so miles on it because they have to drive it to me, then he would look around and if he dont find one then he will apply my $500 to another car. I didnt believe his story about not being able to order one so I went to another dealer and another, etc and they all said the same thing. There are no yaris' being ordered, if you want a 2013 or 2014 you have to take whats on the lots.

*Really* Is this true.

Still checking for myself. I tried to build one on the website and it says contact the dealer. LOL

I would really like a 2014 SE manual but I suppose I have to go with a mazda2.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check cars.com and search for new cars to see the local inventories around your area. There are two 2014 SEs and a dozen LEs and Ls within 30 miles of me.

With Toyota you really don't custom order anyways, but rather they try to match what you want to what is coming to port. They call it "preferencing".

The Yaris gets very little love from dealers, as it is a zero margin car, so they would much rather do the upsell to a Corolla or Camry. A buddy of mine was recently shopping for a Yaris and ended up buying a left over loaded Camry for only $2000 more than the Yaris.

Yaris sales seem to be picking up - no doubt the price of gas has something to do with it.

But product planning takes about three years at minimum. The Yaris in the States must have been a disappointment.

Maybe they're hoping the IQ becomes their micro-mini economy car model, and they'll focus on larger models.

Wait, are you looking at a "SEDAN"?

If so, yes they are discontinued.

SE in Manual is virtually unavailable.

SE in Manual is virtually unavailable.

As evidenced by your 'Drives' details, you know that Honda got this right with the Fit/Fit Sport.....and Toyota didn't .

have you tried Walker Toyota?
When I used to live in this area and they always had a few Yaris' in the lot.
Matter of fact, when i purchased mine, i wanted a blue one and they had to go to the east side of Ohio to get it.

Just a suggestion.
