'09 Yarrrrrr Hatch. 330 miles on the clock. Just bought it Saturday. Trying to decide which route I'm going to go with it...I'll probably pick up another 1NZ and build from the bottom up, but it's stock for now. Seems to be a bit unique too...I've yet to see another crimson red metallic Yaris. Anyway...on with the pics.

Well, I don't have everything pictured in my head yet with what I want to do exactly, but what I'm going to do next is get some carbon fiber vinyl for the hood (lol, I know this is a cheap way of doing things, but hey...) I'm also getting neon lights in the interior within the next week or so.

on top of that, I plan on getting either new wheels, or the rear spoiler. But from there, I'll just keep adding on.

My new 09 Jaris. Its a 5sp with power package and cruise. I tinted all the back windows added a 7in dash mount dvd,cd,mp3 player and also 2 alpine 12's in the back with a sealed encloser. I just got these Nippon racing wheels off E-bay with Nankang Ns1 tires. Wheels were $300 new and shipped to the door. Tires were $184 of E-bay also shipped to door. And $88 to mount and balance. Wheels are 17-7 with a 40mm offset. Tires are 205-40-17. Its now begging for a drop! I got this car with the cash for clunkers program. Just wanted to give props to my boy Obama!:bow:

flint mica is an awesome color in the sun. pops like crazy! ebay muffler :rolleyes: but it sounds lovely! much better than my previous exhaust. muffler delete to a center exit tip.. it was nice, but sounded like a really, really pissed off weedeater. lol

My 2008 Yaris 3-door with TRD rear anti-sway bar and Mazda MX-3 / Enkei 15x6 alloy rims. Toyo Proxes 205/55 x 15 tires. I commute 80 miles, round-trip, every day, but I don't mind spending my time in this little buggy! It's nimble, reasonably comfortable, and averages 37 miles per US gallon in a mix of highway and stop-and-go traffic. It fits four adults and, when I fold down the back seat, I can take take my garbage cans to the recycling center in the hatch! I am very pleased with my Yaris.

Most recent pics...Lowered car more by removing one locking ring on Tein coilovers,Added 10mm Penguin rear hub spacers and added 3.5deg negative camber front and rear,still rolling on 15x8 XXR 501 rims +15 offset.Rubs just a bit...


Question... Why add the rear hub spacer? would it rub without? I know you need camber to clear but why space it out? Reason I ask is I am looking at +7 offset wheels. thanks

Nearly 30 years ago for us. Mine has Sparco wheels, dunlop tires, TRD muffler and lowering springs. I really enjoy it!

And, of course, a pic of my other faithful traveling companion, who has seen 9 states in the last month: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Colorada, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming.

And If I picked up his leash right now, he'd be dancing in circles, ready to go some more. I've never had a dog who was so much fun to travel with. He loves every minute of it, is interested in everything, and is just so generally "engaged" in the experience.

Ditto with the Sprint. The original Chevy sales slogan for the car was "It loves to run!".

Not in my experience. But I'm not really familiar with current Suzuki products. The Sprint was made back before anyone in the US had ever actually heard of a Suzuki car. GM cloaked it under their then-respected brand name. But it was a far higher quality car than the crap GM made at the time. Although it was $5000 new, I've always found it to be top quality. The only notable trade-offs being a couple of issues when it comes to some questionable decisions they made regarding weight savings. (e.g. the light-weight, non-vented, front brake rotor design. I have to be judicious in my brake use and selection of transmission gear when descending mountains... which is something I do a lot of.) Building a car that gets 60+ mpg at 55 mph is an engineering challenge even in 2010... let alone back in 1988.

And you still trust it to go out in the middle of nowhere? Brave.
Between mid-August and mid-February, I drove it 29,000 miles, mostly "in the middle of nowhere".

When I first got it in 1992 (with 77,432 miles on the clock) the Sprint was my "Auntie Mame": It opened doors for me; Doors I never dreamed existed.

And it's still opening doors for me, all these years later. ;-)

The reason today's economy car's don't achieve this is because, well, they're bigger. They're heavier, more powerful, ect. They're filled with much more features, safety equipment, ect. This is just what the market demands.

The '88 Sprint is basically a metal 3-cylinder shell with wheels. Hence 60 mpg.

No other car of the period, including other, non-Metro, Sprints could come close to its fuel economy. Please do note that it's a Sprint "Metro" and not jut a Sprint. There were a number of cool engineering differences. ;-) The current Prius can't match it on the highway.

The Sprint's driver's seat is significantly more comfortable than my Yaris'. It's a remarkably comfortable 3 cylinder shell with wheels. And I've already run into situations where the Sprint could have easily handled cargo that I had difficulty fitting into the Yaris (Sedan).

The Yaris is quieter, however. And has a smoother ride. Definitely a more refined car in many ways.

I've driven the Sprint 260,000+ miles and am just as alive as I was when I started. No Accidents. The Yaris has yet to prove itself in that respect. The Sprint affords me pretty much complete visibility in any direction. The Yaris, I'm still getting used to. All its blind spots make me antsy. Although one of my motivations for buying the Yaris was safety, I currently still feel more safe and secure in my Sprint.

But that's the sort of thing that needs to be given some more time.

The Yaris '09 dropped 1.5in 108 horsepower. The '08 Kaw ZX14 dropped 1in 197 horsepower. They both get about the same miles per gallon. There is no cheaper way to travel with my bike.
This trip was from Chicago to Miami in January. Next stop Montreal, Quebec in June for formula one weekend. This time I will try to haul two bikes on my trailer. I hope the Yaris will hold up. I just put the summer shoes on, It's dirty but not a bad pic . I still have a few more cosmetics to do and waiting on the HID set for the projector fogs. Will have full halos and LED's for daytime runners up front and projectors all around.

I also bought a 4-2-1 header that eliminates the midpipe but waiting for the new intake and axleback before the swap.
