I have a 2012 Yaris L (5mt) and I'm not looking for another car. However, I sometimes like to jump on the websites of dealers in my region to see what they have. One dealership is selling a 2008 Yaris (5mt) with 61k miles for $13,995. That seems really high, doesn't it? I don't expect that a buyer would end up paying that price, but it struck me as a high starting point. Thoughts?

Yeah, that is a lot. The member who just bought a NEW Yaris up in the northern burbs of Chicagoland only paid a bit more than that. Sometime in the last year or two (when Yahoo had a different format) I posted here about a used Yaris listed on Yahoo! by one if the big rental car companies (car was located somewhere in the L.A. area). The car had well over 300k miles on it and, IIRC, the price was over 13k. If not, it was definitely over 12k....WAY too much.

Wow! for $13,995 I would personally deliver my 2008 Yaris to you, and it has under 40k miles.

Bought my 2009 Yaris this January for $6200 which was a deal because they go for $7000. Mine is a 2 door HB base model. At $13,995 it's a rip off no matter which model.
It better serve you breakfast in bed!!!!

Worth every penny IMHO! :headbang:
(not my penny though....someones penny who drives an F150 V8 20k a year to work and back)
The dealer is hoping to find a schmuck who is desperate to get out of a truck. Unless it is fully loaded with every single option, that was near the price it originally sold for.

I only paid $13,700 for my 08 when I bought it... back in 08 and with 6 miles on it

I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one that thinks that $14k is too much!

:bellyroll:. CTScott, roxy1, bronsin, and enviri's last responses each made me laugh. NEexpat's last response made me smile. Your response above edges out the rest as the funniest.

I'm with Scott - I'll deliver the 2008 in my driveway for that price......and cook you dinner. That's barely less than I paid for my 2013 brand new! In fact - I'd sell my 2013 for that in a heartbeat also.
