Hi guys, I just purchased a 2011 4door sedan with 29k miles, the car had been in a small rear collision on the driver's rear. Everything in the frame checked out at the body shop I took it to.

The thing is the seem of the rear taillight on the drivers side where the car was impacted is leaking. I hopped inside the trunk(yes, a dead body would fit nicely! :headbang:) and had my girlfriend spray the hose simulating rain and I found the leak. What is a good way to seal this metal seem? Any products or advice?

Besides this little nudge, the car is pristine and runs like new, my friend at the body shop couldn't belive I got it for 8k (I'm in Puerto Rico) I do 50miles of driving a day and coming back from a Jeep/Nissan Pathfinder my pockets feel nice at the pump:burnrubber:

There is a foam gasket that goes between the light and the metal. Check to see that it is there and is not ripped. If it is fine, then you may have to add a small bead of silicone to seal where the metal is deformed from the crash.

Thanks for the reply Scott, I checked and the foam gasket was there, I just went to my body guy and he told me to go on Monday so we can take off the entire bumper and seal everything from the outside and inside.

I managed to seal it off without taking the bumper off. I used white silicon on both inside and outside the seam. So far so good.
