First of all, hello YarisWorld! As of yesterday 11/19/14 at about 5pm, I now own my first Toyota Yaris. I work at a dealership and had the chance to drive one years ago and fell in love so when the need arose for me to purchase a daily driver, you can guess what my first choice was! I'm no noob to the car world, I'm an old school Toyota guy through and through (Celica's to be specific). I hope you will all welcome me with open arms because as with every "new" purchase, I'll have "new" questions to ask about a platform that I'm not yet familiar with. Let's start out with what I bought.

It's a 2009 Toyota Yaris 3-door hatch, 1.5L, with a manual transmission, 128k on the clock. I bought it locally from an older couple who used it as a daily commuter and serviced it religiously. With that being said, it is literally in perfect condition! No ding, dents, scratches, etc

The one and only reason I purchased my Yaris is to drive it until the wheels fall off, then put more wheels on it and continue driving. I'll be changing jobs after the first of the year and nearly 40MPG will be a nice addition to my 100 mile daily commute.

I tell myself this every time I buy a car but I had no intentions of modding it. We all know, as car guys that means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING because we always sink money into our adored 4 wheeled friends. With that in mind, I am keeping the mods to a minimal, IE suspension, wheels/tires (the basics) just to get it looking good, considering it will never be fast

Anyway, I won't bore you, without further adieu, here is my Carmine Red Metallic Yari! Feel free to chime in with your "favorite" wheel choices, suspensions preferences, and anything in general that you old timers have "been there, done that" with.

As stated before, I am a die-hard Toyota guy so I figured I'd also throw in a pic of my beloved 1985 Celi. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome ctsround3. Your Carmine looks to be in excellent shape. Just watch out for girls that speed out of driveway entrances or you'll end up like Shinare (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53192).

There are quite a few die hard Toyota people here as well. The thread "Your Other Toyotas (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36227)" might be a good place to post your Celica and see what others have/had as well.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind words about my Celica! I definitely have mild plans for the Yaris but sad to say, no stance, flush, fitment, or slamming will happen with this one  Just a moderate build, mostly for cosmetics and handling as it will be a DD from now until she kicks the bucket (I hope).

I think the car was definitely well cared for. It's extremely clean inside and out. I will definitely take a look at that thread! Thanks for the welcome!

Update: 11/29/14

New wheel/tire package: I LOVE GOLD! And I definitely think it compliments the Carmine Red. 16x7 Konig Feather +40, with 205/50/16 tires. I'll be installing next week once my Tien S-Techs come in. Will also be ordering a TRD rear sway bar in the next day or so. Hopefully I can have this girl put looking good before the beginning of 2015

Would a mod care to delete the "duplicate" posts and this one? Sorry!

Giggity. Anyone care to guess what's in the box without reading the sticker? :D
