Brake adjuster loosening while driving?

Hello,

I've had brake issues with my 2008 Yaris sedan for a few years now. Last two times I've taken it in to a shop. Problem is with the adjuster on the right side drum. Rather than self-adjusting it is self-loosening.

I've had the adjuster replaced 3 times with new aftermarket parts. Problem persists. Not sure what else to try.

Any suggestions? I do not want to keep trowing money at this problem. This is the vehicle my wife uses to get to work and take our daughter to kindergarden. I need a permanent fix. Do not want to risk our family's life.

maybe you're putting the adjuster in the wrong way. one way will self tighten the other will loosen....if it can be backwards.

You likely have a problem with the adjuster arm incorrectly installed or adjuster incorrectly installed. do a search to get an image of the rear-brake assembly to verify it yourself.
