Not sure if this is where this gets posted but here we go!
Just picked up (last night) a white 2015 le 5speed from my local Toyota dealer with 19000 ish km on the clock. After shopping around the other small cars the Yaris seems to be the best bang for the buck, and couldn't pass up the deal! Bought it as a second car/ commuter to my 2004 turbo Subaru Forester. Although the Subaru is awesome in the snow we get up here, it's getting old and with the amount of power it puts down, it can't be relied on to run all the time........So it's been relegated to garage queen!
It's my second Toyota, my first was an 88 mk3 supra which I loved but had to let go. Looking forward to some Toyota reliability!!!! First mod is a brand new set of snow tires, next will be some good summer wheels with performance tires.....Advise?
Cheers!

Welcome aboard.
Looks like you've got what is either Canada's smallest garage, or largest tool shed tucked back there.

It's a full one car......Fits a 3/4 tonne diesel no proble lol
Insane amount of snow this year. I stopped counting after Christmas.
The yaris was not a toyota pre owned deal....Or whatever they call it. I got it for 13.5. was gonna pay cash but I got them down to really good interest rate that I couldn't say no to. Keeping the cash for the Subaru....Which hopefully will become the monster it should be. More then likely it will be a dust collector.
What tire size works on 16's? Looking to keep stock ish height but would like to go bigger then the ice skate size tire they come with....

Welcome Formainc,
Good luck with your car, I am sure it will be good. I really enjoy my 2015, they are actually really good in the snow. I bought 4 Bridgestone Blizzaks and went thru tons of snow for a month or so,no problem at all.
I also had an 88 Mk3 and an 89 Mk3 turbo. Great fun cars, good memories. The Yaris is also fun, but a completely different ride with a different agenda.
Cheers

Thanks YarTed! I miss my mk3 supra all the time! Wish I kept it! The Subaru fulfills my need for speed, but the supra was a whole other animal!

Well just over two weeks with the Yaris!
Car has been great so far! Awesome on fuel and pretty comfortable considering!
Now a few questions for the Yaris group. I have the mod but(suprise suprise). There doesn't seem to be a lot out for the 2015 chassis, how do the parts transfer over from previous generation cars? I know exhaust stuff would be the same, what about cold air, rear sway bar, short shifters and what not? Also where do you guys get your TRD stuff????
Thanks!

Figure it's time for an update. I've out roughly 10000km on the little thing, and have been very happy with it. Fuel economy is great, generally happy with the way it drives, just wish 4th gear was a little more useful.....haha.
Few very simple mods so far:
Trailer hitch and bike rack. Went with the draw tite off Amazon. Easy enough to install, was very happy that I did it on my buddies lift as the rear bumper is real close to where it needs to go. Did have to remove part of the rear fuel tank support and or trim. Get some looks with my big 29er mountain bike on a little Yaris but it works awesome!
Put a set of universal rally armour mud flaps on. The little ones that come with the car are quite useless in slush and snow.
Also pretty happy with what I can fit in the thing with the seats down. Lasy weekend got a set of 16inch wheels and tires and an engine stand for my Subaru engine.
Happy yaris'ing everyone!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170614/cf3ad5551afa306b39ed9c5282987d2a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170614/b109fa0ef45d3a9b35246faddc7e2ca2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170614/787def2c11a7412f87126a2e01823bf7.jpg

Thanks for the post,it looks good. Been thinking about a hitch, for my 2015 Yaris. Does the car feel much different with the extra weight ? Does it sit much lower at the back? would be good to know, thanks
Welcome to the club. Good call on the hitch-mounted bicycle carrier. I just installed my Thule carrier about 6 hours ago. Up to now, I had to remove the front wheel from my bicycle to transport it... Does your carrier collapse for tail gate clearance?

How's the 2015 going? I am going to be retiring my 2007 soon.
The 2015 LE is the one that keeps coming up on my radar.
Should I buy another Yaris or go with a different car?
Do the newer Yaris accept all the different upgrades?
Can I still find aftermarket parts?
Have you done anything since your last post?
FOR ALL THE CANADIAN GUYS OUT THERE,
WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR PARTS FROM???
IS THERE AN EASY ANSWER TO FINDING PARTS?

Everyone from Canada are buying parts from members tmontague and invader166.
Seriously though, most parts are interchangeable from 2007-2017. Dont know about 2018.

I'd say get a 2017. Parts are interchangeable and the 2017 appear to be still reliable.
Most of my parts come from online and I get it shipped to my US PO box in Niagara
