Key buttons wont lock/unlock doors.....

Fixed thanks to Mickman.For future reference step 5 could cause the procedure to work or fail.I tried with 3 times on/off and that did the trick,it may be 1 or 2 on/off's for others though.

Yarisworld to the rescue again :D


I put in a brand new battery,dome lights work so no blown fuses.

The small red light on the key itself lights up when pressed.

Toyota wants $50 just to diagnose never mind fix.

Not sure what to do.Suggestions welcomed.

Try following the reprogram procedure. I had the same problem as you, and reprogramming fixed my issue.

Tried it the best I could.No dice.

Looks like I will just get used to using the key the old fashioned way.Cant afford hundreds of dollars to get fixed.

Holy smokes it worked!

Step 5 was the issue.I chose 3 on/off's and then the doors locked.All is good.
