Hi everyone,
I recently picked up a 2007 Toyota Yaris 4dr. I bought it "as is" and had to get the safety and emission test done myself. I'm located in Toronto, Ontario. Two days after I passed my safety and emission test, my CEL came on and I got the following codes: P2401 P043E P043F P2402 P2419. Did a lot of reading on other forums and it seems to require a replacement of the charcoal canister. I have already tried replacing the gas cap with no success.
My question is: could I have passed the emission test with a faulty charcoal canister? Or could it be another component? Toyota dealership is saying it's going to cost ~$150 to diagnose the problem. Should I go to an independent mechanic for them to check it out?
