Hi all,
Looking to pick up a new (used) Yaris. Aiming for ~2014-2017 5 door hatch with a manual transmission. They're either exceedingly rare in the US or they never built them. BUT! They have a lot of them in Canada.
Being from Vermont and only two hours away from Montreal I searched for them in Canada and there are plenty! I'm currently looking through the laws and paperwork that would come with bringing one into the US and registering here in VT.
So a question for the Canadian members here: Where is the FMVSS certificate label located on these cars? (Or CMVSS if there's not an FMVSS). It'll be a label which indicates the vehicle's compliance with motor vehicle safety standards. Often on the door jamb or hood.
I'm hoping that since the model is identical to the US version it'll be able to be imported despite being newer than 25 years old. I'll keep this updated as I learn more information in case it's successful and anyone wants to do the same in the future.
Thank you!
