I think I've made my opinion clear on how I feel about the LACK of a tachmeter in the 5-speed liftback, but does it even have a shift light? I can't find anything that states that it does or does not have one.

Nope :frown:

But you can add an aftermarket tach without too much trouble

No, there's no shift light. And I don't even notice the lack of tach at this point. You really have to push it to hit the rev limiter.

Its not the rev limit i'm worried about. It's just one of those things that would help with MPG if they had a shift light come on at the optimum shift points (3-4K) since there is no tach. I know its beating a dead horse, but it seams obvious that the designers don't drive the car they made. At least the american designers (who removed the tach, since the tach comes in every other country) don't drive the car daily.

So no tach, and no shift light. Gotcha. I did like the glowshift gauges shown in another thread. Will have to consider them in a pod if there's no tach in the 2008 model.
