Looked at the new 2008's, not bad, picking mine up hopefully tommorrow.
Was a special order, 2 door hatchback with power option and stick, probably throw in a few extra's. Black sand pearl by the way. Didn't see the 2 door S model there. Hum. Hope they send a few into our neihborhood.

Two dealerships in the northeast have told me the 2008 Toyota Yaris S hatchback won't be on their lot's until the middle of October.

More than likely with a higher price. Smart people got the 07.

The way Toyota allocates vehicles is that there are zones across the United States. 12 or 16, can't remember which right now. Anyway, each zone will get different vehicles w/ different packages at different times. This is why Toyota.com's car builder feature forces you to input your area code. They need to know which zone you're in so you don't find a car available that you can't actually get unless you live on the other side of the country.

So yes, for the "zone" here in the midwest, we will not be seeing 08's for a little while.

Well i get mine this week and i'm from SD, so i must be lucky. BTW 13.8k with the extras and origination fee. I dont think thats bad considering inflation and demand.

There was an 08 S on the lot when desperauto and I stopped by, so you can pick one up now in the PNW for sure... (I picked up a new superwhite xB2) even with "Tach" too... the lip kit looked ok...

What's even better... Our Last Name is "Desper" - Wish I'd have thought of that handle for car forum life.... good ol' dad wit.

We'll have two cars to play with now... My wife and I got the new 08 superwhite xB and his got the new 08 black Yaris... He'll be the bad guy... we'll be the good guys...

I can't wait to see what he'll pull off with the Yaris.... the xB will just get tint, lowered, HIDs, and 19s... no more crazyness for me anymore like the tC times.

Finally, It's so pretty, setting outside the garage right now. Picked up a few cool toys to install. Heads up display and a OBD2 scan gauge II. Getting it tinted next week. So much to MOD so little time!!!!

Its a VSD concept,we had put one in my sons scion TC looks really sharp. On the yaris it will go right in front of the driver mounted inside the dash, got to be real careful with cutting the dash and make it pretty. Tach and speed plus warning lights on shift points, plus lots of other capabilitys. It puts a nice display on the windshield and at night you can dim down the interior gauge lights and just have that.

This is the new model of the VSD line from DEFI for HUDs

http://www.nengun.com/defi/vsd-x

I actually prefer the VSD concept, as it's essentially the same, but reflects directly on the windshield, instead of an attached display... unfortunately, it's discontinued, but you can find it online and at certain distributors for DEFI.

Here's a video of it installed in my tC. (The shift points are set very low for demonstration purposes)
