how to check VIN nos?

Hi everyone

i am very new to cars and i wonder where can i check the VIN is it inside the bonnet? also which no tells the yr it was manufactured? cos i want to make sure mine is make in the 06 yr.... :confused: wondering if there is 05 ones?

For the year, the manual inside the glove compartment should have the year. Of course, if the sticker is still present, that would show.

In the US, the VIN is placed in tons of places. On the engine, side rail of driver's door, inside of dash (can see through front windshield). I haven't looked specially at the Yaris but that is how my Scion tC was. If you can't find, write back and I will look.

Thanks fearturtle44:wink: .... i havn;t have the car yet...but i will pick it up in the following day and i want to make sure mine is made in 06 ....otherwise i won;t take that car because it will cost less in second hand market

Just a little advise....If you input your VIN at the carfax websight it will tell you everything you need to know. this is how I knew if the car I ordered was the right ne or not.
