The dark side of the moons

1.jpg2.jpg

I'm giving them until Sunday to dry, and then they get clayed, waxed and buffed. 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint and one heavy coat of clear. This is all part of a bunch of exterior cosmetic stuff taking place here in the next few weeks. The headlights and tail lights are coming off one more time for a final coating, the new moons go on and a new window banner will be on its way from my buddy Thomas in Thailand shortly. By the way, everything I used was from Autozone and didn't cost much. I used a 3M scuff pad and some rubbing alcohol for starters to get all the dirt and oil off of them, then Duplicolor sandable primer and Duplicolor high performance wheel coating in black and clear. They look good.

That is going to luck so utterly bizarre that I can't even picture it. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

BTW, I notice you're rockin' the A* hat... what do you ride?

I ride a Suzuki GSX-R 600 in my dreams!

No, seriously, I'm just crazy about motors and IMHO sport bikes are the pinnacle of all motoring. Well, that and F1. Anyway, for now I'm just a wannabe, but I'll have my bike one day.

Heh, I like weird vehicles.... anything that looks different from the status quo, I'm all about it. Guess that's probably the main reason I wound up with a Buell XB12Ss Lightning. There are certainly more "sophisticated" bikes out there for less money, but Gixxers never get the question "Whoa, what the hell is that?!"

My fascination for weird is also why I've been so heavily considering the smart fortwo for next year. And the reason I like the Yaris LB.

Okay, threadjack over! Back to hubcaps!

I think it makes for an interesting winter look. I know which rims I want.

Rock those in all their 17 inches of glory in the summer and wrap the steelies in some Blizzaks for winter.

ummm... I'm not sure what I'm going to do mine in now...

I'm either going black to clash with the white, or I'm going to do mine in white to blend with the rest of the body (as there will be the black tire boarder...)

I'm interested in seeing if the spray paint will hold up to road wear.

I am too. This paint is specifically for wheels, so I would hope it would hold up well. We shall see!

Okay, that's just... well..... I dunno. I'm at a loss for words. Hmm.

I'm gonna' go with "unattractive"... which I don't mean in a bad way. It's very interesting, but not pretty. Does that make sense?

You should do something utterly crazy with that blank canvas. Like a vinyl wrap of the standard black & white "psycho" swirl...

Nice Pink Floyd Quote...

Quick question... What's the difference between Black Moons and Stock Steelies?

From 10 feet away can you even tell there's something there?

Either way... your Yaris is looking awesome!

The moons are a good look for this car. However, I'd love to see that design in a brushed-aluminum finish. That would look incredible, especially on a silver car.
