At last! new wheels!

I've been sitting on this looooong enough... but it became really necessary for me to get some new wheels, here's what's happened to one of the old tires:

It had been steadily losing pressure over time, until I literally had to refill it every other day...

So, because I am sadly on a budget, and a set of low-profile tires for 18" wheels costs about as much as a set of new 15" wheels and tires.... It was time to go small, light and dark :D

Out with the old:

The new hotness:

Yes, I know, not a well-known brand, but I've checked a few comparisons online and they are more than decent, and hard to beat for the price :)

And now:

Impressions? Why didn't I do this sooner??? :D Seriously, the old 18" wheels looked amazing, but so wrong for this car and these roads... now the ride is more supple (but the coilovers are still pretty jarring), the car does feel more responsive, though I have yet to give it a proper flogging), I have not broken the bank (the shop even bought back my old rims, they can probably get them refurbished... I was not expecting to make any money off them, so... bonus!).

So, it's an awesome feeling that even after 3 years of the "same old" car, it can still bring a big smile to my face :D

OK, so now I really need to get the car washed inside and out and do a worthy photoshoot...

loved the look, completely understand the change, I bet the car feels a LOT better, and that looks pretty darn good.

Looks good! As for Maxxis, they seem to be a good brand to me. I am running Maxxis Bighorns on Crashy.

Becuase the 17" and above tyres and rims , make thecar ride hard .
Also due to the Lack of tyre wall height the Rims buckle and bend at the slightest pot hole

Oh and thats looking real nice Thomas , love it .

Gives your car a whole new personality.

I like the change and I'm sure the yaris appreciates not having the extra weight.

Good move :)

Looking great! Much better than the 18's if you ask me.
I'll bet you'll feel a difference next time you step on the gas

Ray hit that one on the head... I need to post closeup pics of my old wheels and you'll understand.

And the weight savings too... old woman at the shop picked up the new wheels with one hand while I was struggling to carry my old ones with both hands :D

17" wheels would be plenty if you're going for looks...

New wheels look good. Nice change from light to dark colour. Would be good if you still had your body kit, would look alot nicer. Good stuff Thomas.

Looks good! I will, however, always be a fan of your car on the 18s.
