Which tire do you have?

I must buy new tires for my car, and I would like to have your feedback on your tires! It's only for warmer season as I have dedicated winter tires for temperatures under 0 degrees (approx).

I have stock rim, 185/60/r15, and I want good grip, good traction on wet roads, and quite confortable ride. Suggestions are for Michelin Defender or Pirelli P4. Do you have any of these? Do you like them? Don't care about Michelin warranty as I don't plan to go at the shop to have a rotation done every 5000km (or so) that they seems to need... Price is not an issue neither as long as it's not exagerated.

Any tips? It's hard to find reliable review on the net...!

Thanks

I like the Michelin Defender. I just put a set on my other car, and I'm very happy with them. I also see excellent reviews for the General Altimax RT43. However, the tread pattern of the Pirelli P4 with its continuous center rib will work much better on the Yaris than either the Michelin or the General. The Pirelli will improve straight line tracking and virtually eliminate highway wander, which is a serious problem with the Yaris.

Americas Tire here in Temecula is recommending these for my '11 LB. Reducing hiway wander and noise are my two main goals. The Michelin Defende seems popular....how does it track?

YokoHama S-Drives

They are inexpensive and great while they last (which isn't long)

Ideal summer use only kinda tire

i find the S.Drives quite pricey. But that's what i have... Yokohama S.Drive in 195/55R15.

They are a good and well balanced tire for both wet and dry. I usually get 4-5 seasons out of them on a 25000km yearly average winter/summer combined with dedicated winter tires.

I have the Yokohama AVID ENVigors 195/60R15. I've gotten 45,000 miles out of them with probably another 5,000 to go before they absolutely need to be replaced. Good 3-season tire with very few issues on wet roads. I do have issues with highway wander especially on windy days (although lowering springs and the rear sway bar have helped tremendously with that).

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anyone have recommendations for Bridgestone/Firestone tires (other than the from-factory Potenzas that were on my Yaris) or have any experience with Bridgestone Ecopias? My brother recently started working for Firestone and would be able to purchase, mount, and balance for relatively cheap so I'm just looking at my options.

I had Falken ZE 950 in 195/55 15 on my car with Tigertec lowering springs. Those tires were awesome when I had them on my car. Here's what it looked like.

Ohtsu FP7000 in 195/55X15. I've got this on my Yaris and both my daughter's cars. Ohtsu is the company that makes Falken. Great value at $54 per tire

Michelin Premier A/S. I like their grip on wet and dry roads.

Michelin defender ftw. Get them at Costco their warranty is fantastic. I punctured a sidewall and they replaced it with mount and balance for $15

Bfg comp 2's. Haven't had them long but they're an awesome everyday performance tire.
