Dealer Bull^&%#

Just got my oil changed and the dealer told me I needed new tires. Took it to my local Big O and they said they were smokin some crack at the dealer. Then they tried to give me a "deal" at $125 a piece on some Goodyear tires. Went online and found tires for $50 a piece Flaken Ziex. Has anyone else got that kind of bull from a dealership. I know the Goodyears are probably that much but they didnt even give me any options or anything. Thats what they said they had in stock so it would have been like over $500 plus an alignment.

A dealership is consistently among the worst places to get anything done at. They will lie, overcharge, stack on hidden fees, etc., by default.

There are very few things I will use a dealership for, preferring to work with smaller shops when I can. If you get to know your local mechanics, your rapport can keep them honest.

Don't ever forget that the technicians work on commissions and bonuses just like the salesmen.

dealer!!

well if your car is within warranty period then they should give you new tire for free...those tire should last at least 5 years so anything happen to it they should replace..worn ball joint or improper allignment assuming you are bringing her in for routin check up... bumper to bumper..they should cover it.

Just for grins I asked my dealership for a quote on installing my new TRD lowering springs. They said that it is 2 hours per strut at $89 an hour. Thats like $712.

well i know BMW does not cover tires under warranty. unles theres a worn suspension component that caused the wear.

i work at a bmw dealership as a tech and i try to help customers as much possible. but we are expensive

2 hours per strut... umm.... I would walk that quote right into the garage and show it to the actual mechanics -- I'm sure they'd be offended, maybe you could start a strike.

Probably not a bad idea, but I'll take my business somewhere else. I really don't care about the warranty. I should have learned my lesson when I got my CAI and they told me $100. I shit on that quote and did in myself in 20 minutes in the dealer parking lot.

Hanover PA. I like them, as much as someone can like a dealership. I got my Toyota 15" rims there for less than any online store I could find. They scratched one so they replaced it and I bought the scratched one for 40 bucks. I don't go to the dealer for much but they are one of the best I've seen.
