my brothers ws-6 t/a turbo..yum
for over the past year my brother has been having his 1998 trans-am ws-6 fully built. from 9" ford rear with 3:73's, 76mm sts turbo, 402 built bottom end, cam...top end, manifold, fuel...you name it, the car now has it. so today we went down to drop off some wheels and check on the vehicle.
heres a few shots and some video for you big *** front mount intercooler, plate surround cut-out and fogs removed... scary to see in your rear view exhaust...single pipe only. would be a sleeper if it wasn't cammed and so damn loud at idle 76mm turbo and induction shot of the fast manifold and all the other goodies like a 4"+charge pipe quick video at idle...short http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v1...t=100_0180.flv quick dyno video http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v1...t=100_0183.flv 582rwhp/642ftlb...only went to about 4900rpm on low boost... he's got quite a few more 100's to go :) ...car will dyno well over that. it will not have a cage and it will be street driven... at 2500rpm, it made nearly 500ftlb's of tq at the wheels my big *** down pipe that came today woohoo :) ...nothing compared to the other his car...lol (for the cobalt) |

Too bad it's American. All that work and money and it will only be good for a measly 60,000 miles or so, dropping fluids and burning through an alarming amount of gas until that time.
All so one man can compensate. What a shame.

as for gas milage, while putting down 308whp with a lid on the induction and free-mods the car got 28mpg and ran 12's. this isn't a daily driver... i don't understand some of you yaris drivers..lol, i know there are true gear heads out there somewhere. my domestic makes near 260whp and gets 36mpg...those damn domestics. |

Just because you're too pathetically poor to afford driving something with REAL POWER, doesn't mean you're justified in bashing on people who own REAL PERFORMANCE VEHICLES. My wife and I have a 1993 Camaro Z28 and a 1998 Trans Am (like the one in this thread). Both cars have QUADRUPLE the horsepower that your almighty Yaris is cranking out, and both get good gas mileage for their power output. I haven't measured my mileage lately (because my Camaro has been retired to "weekend toy" once I bought my Yaris), but it's in the low 20's on the highway (God bless the T-56 six-speed tranmission), and I know for a fact, my wife's Trans Am gets as good as 30mpg on the highway. Burning an alarming amount of gas? Ha! As if! The dropping fluids comment is a joke as well. Way to stereotype something you know nothing about. My 93 Camaro (a 14-year old car) has about 146k miles, no loss of compression, runs like new, and has ZERO LEAKS. My wife's car, a 98 Trans Am,has 116k miles and also has ZERO LEAKS. Both cars are at DOUBLE the miles you claim they "drop fluid" at...what do you have to say about that? As for compensating for something, maybe YOU would think that. I'm not trying to bash you too hard here, but I own an "American" muscle car, and I'm not "compensating" for anything...my wife will confirm that one. As for my wife, please, tell me, how in the hell is SHE compensating?

I like american and ricers. I mean what sounds better a 4cyl with a fart can or a v8 with dual exhuast. It isnt about mpg or compensating, those that say that others are trying to compensate is because they are self conscious about themselfs.

Course a 4cyl with 600hp is a little more impressive than a v8 with 600hp. I have had 3 4cyls and 2 v8's and I like all of them. Shoot one of my favorite cars is a 1.3 with 63hp. I didnt like it for the mpg I liked it because it was fun and under estimated.

A 600 hp LSx or 4v ford motor can do it on pump gas all day every day without touching the longblock. A cool car is a cool car, no matter what country it comes from. |

See me I dont care who makes it or what size motor. It is the fun factor and the fact that I like it. I like mustangs, camaros, festivas, cobalts, focus, gto, yaris, tc and on and on. I think when some people have so much loyalty to a specific brand it is stupid. Yeah if toyota has a car u like than cool, me personaly I hate most of toyota cars. It was stupid for getting rid of the supra but I like the yaris, corolla s(has to be the s) and there trucks but not there suv's. I like the suzuki sx4 and aerio but not the rest. It seems like people have loyalty to a company even if they dont like them. It like people saying they had a chevy so they dont like fords.

Also, you're worried about traction? Any car will get traction, with the right tires and suspension setup. A car that can't get traction is driven by an amateur or the suspension isn't set up right...
