Slick,
I used part of your DIY for installing power wires into my car. I forgot about removing the plastic piece above the battery, as that would have been very convenient. I also did not cut the carpet, but removed some bracket up to the top right, so I could pull the carpet back to route the wires. However, in my impatience, I ended up tearing the carpet or insulation , but at least it is not where it can be seen. I had a heck of a time getting both power and ground wires under the trim piece around the rear seatbelt. I have the sliding rear seats, so did not want any wires exposed back there. I bought a grommet from Napa, but can't find the exact model number. I think it was for a 3/4" hole. We had a hard time getting that on the firewall, but ended up lowering the computer to get our hands in there. So, now I have power and ground cables in the rear by the spare tire, for future radio amp installation. |
