Car occassionally makes brief squealing noise at startup...
Didn't start until I had the belt replaced about 25k miles ago. Happens in any weather... had one shop install it and squeal started. They told me sometimes it's caused by the belt stretching after new install or something of that nature. They tightened it and the noise went away for a while.
Started doing it again more recently so I had another shop look at it. They said it does it for like an instant at startup but they didn't hear anything else past that and I guess there wasn't anything they could do to fix it?  The second shop did suggest it might be a pully going bad? I guess the pulley's have bearings??? Anybody? |
