Silent / Service Recalls
Anyone know of a web site or a compiled listing that has any of the Silent or service recalls for the Yaris ??
Traditionally manufactures don't want this info 'leaked' but as often the case, these things are in fact made public... eventually. Would be nice if anyone in the industry can keep us updated. So.... who in the know, whats to start a list ? [Edit] Only found these 3 items. Seems pretty old, and may/may not actually effect local models... Recall: No. 1 of 3 Recall Ref: R2001/112 Exact Model: Yaris Description: SECURITY OF REAR HUBS TO AXLE BEAM VIN: VARIOUS Build Date: Numbers: 697 Defect: The bolts securing the left and right rear hubs to the axle beam may not have been tightened to the correct torque. In the worse case, the hubs could become loose. Action: Recall affected vehicles, check and tighten the hub fasteners to the specified torque where necessary Launch Date: 08 August 2001 Recall:No. 2 of 3 Recall Ref: R/2006/130 Exact Model: Yaris, Prius and Yaris Verso Description: Engine may stall VIN: PRIUS JT153FU1#00024214 to JT153FU1#00046747 Build Date: Numbers: 7893 Defect: Due to improper moulding of the body of the crankshaft position sensor, engine oil may penetrate the seal and enter the sensor wiring connector. In this condition, the engine oil within the sensor’s wiring connector may expand due to engine heat and could deform the sensor. In the worst case, the connector may become disconnected, which could cause the engine to stall while driving and restarting would not be possible. Action: Recalled vehicles will have the crankshaft position sensor replaced. Launch Date: 27 November 2006 Recall: No. 3 of 3 Recall Ref: R2000/029 Exact Model: Description: REAR WHEELS MAY LOCK UNDER HARD BRAKING VIN: VARIOUS Build Date: January 1999 to January 2000 Numbers: 19639 Defect: There is a possibility that, under certain conditions, when applying the brakes hard and suddenly, as in a panic situation, a locking of the rear wheels may occur. The vehicle handling will then become unstable. Action: Recall affected vehicles and replace brake proportioning valve with a modified type. Launch Date: 14 March 2000 Last edited by Ferret_san; 09-07-2007 at 05:17 AM. |
