Hello Toyota Previa
Hello all... we finally said goodbye to the RUBBISH - Mazda 5 which has blighted our lives for the past 3yrs.
So on 12/12/09 we finally got the Previa (Sienna -US). I have wanted a Toyota Previa for a VERY long time, and having travelled over 350 miles in the process, and I am not dissaponted with it. What a lovely car. My Yaris continues to run faultless, still doing it's 300 mile commute a week. We have recently returned from holiday in sunny Florida (FANTASTIC TIME).... both the Mazda + Yaris were both parked for 16 days. The Mazda would not start; called the breakdown - piece of S++T. My ever faithful Yaris fired-up straight away, it really is a magic little car. That's another reason why I wanted a Previa and NOT a Chrysler and certainly NOT a rubbish Renault Regards. |

I don't think the sienna and previa are the same thing, but congrats anyways.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you like the Mazda5? I've always said if I were to buy a minivan, that'd be what I'd get.

Mazda5 = Rubbish?
Does not compute. Care to explain? I have heard nothing but good things about the 5.

I'm curious as well to know why Mazda 5 is a rubbish.
If I were to get a mini van in U.S., Mazda 5 will definitely be one of a few to consider.

I have a 1991 Toyota Previa that we use for transporting drywall and building materials from Home Depot to our house sometimes... It's still chugging and is by far one of the most reliable and tough vans I have ever seen.
It's a shame they stopped making them in North America though, the Sienna is fine but it's just not the same (for starters, drywall sticks out the back rather than fitting in completely). Hell, the Previa had an ICE MAKER at the front under the console! Come on! |

The rear suspension strut had been replaced ONCE already - but when we did trade it... the same noise was yet AGAIN apparent.... enough was enough. The issues with the suspension are well documented.... BOTH sides of the Atlantic + dealers whom don't know how to put it right, or are even aware of the faults in the first place? It was out of warranty, but even when it was still covered by it's warranty - the dealers whom where absolutely NAFF did not help. They came across as they did not have a clue. So please search MAZDA 5 suspension faults....... Last edited by jetlag 5000; 01-01-2010 at 11:31 AM. |

good info on the mazda5...might have to strike it off the list of bigger-cars when the time comes....what about if you go w/ mazda3 coilovers? does that solve the suspension issue? (in that case it might go back ON the list, lol)
hard to beleive you're excited about getting a minivan though....how many kids do you have?

The Mazda isues were for myself VERY dissapionting...... NEVER thought it would need to see the inside of a garage on many occasions - ONLY when it needed a service.... how wrong I was. |

Nothing's wrong with minivans. I've still got my good old 1998 Mercury Villager.
