Help on YR Wheel Size
I have a 09 Yaris YR, and im looking to replace the OEMs with 17"s, hopefully.
However i've heard that it can only go 2 sizes up. Since the YR model is fitted with 14"s, im wondering if they are able to fit. Thanks in advance |

The rims itself will fit, it's just that some insurance companies have a policy of only covering you for 2 sizes up. Having said that, most people don't seem to care.

Hmm thanks for the clarification,
Also im given to understand that 16's are the perfect size for both comfort and style than 17s. Is this true or is it what some people prefer? Thanks again |

I would say that 16's are more comfortable compared to the 17's as you'd have more rubber around the rim to act as cushioning.
However, as for style, this is purely what people prefer. I personally prefer more rubber (smaller rims) for that track-oriented look, while others prefer less rubber (bigger rims) for that sleek look. Hope that helps! Btw, welcome to the forums and post up pics of your ride! :)

My YR came with 15" factory alloys and a tyre placard to suit, so if you could get a hold of a placard for 15" rims you could technically put 17s on legally.
The main thing to check is offset when purchasing wheels. Always do a test fit too :)

i 2nd spookz if your looking fro bling then go for it if you are looking for performance then you may have to look hard, if you are going to throw it around then you are going to burn rubbers and for a good/ better set of tyres for lets say 15"because that is what oi have, you can get a set of 195/50/R15s Bridgestone potenza adrenalins for $120 each and i must say they are i real nice tyre if you were to get 17 you are looking at $180 -$230 for good tyres on top of that the extra weight in big wheels can have a big effect on speed =) be sure to inform your insurance man when making changed that effect performance, a yaris dose not need big wheels to look good ;) |

@AND189
Probably more bling than anything, however i have taken into consideration the weight issues of 17's and still not sure as to get 16s or lightweight 17's which will be more expensive. Since its a 1.3L YR going uphill will be a pain with some heavy 17's. Thanks for all the input guys @Spookz Unfortunately its stock, havent done any modifications what so ever, therefore there is nothing to see |
