ID OEM/AM Cruise Control in a 2007 Liftback
The 2007 Liftback I just purchased, otherwise extremely stock, has cruise control. I read here that it wasn't available yet in 2007. Does this look OEM, or if aftermarket, what brand? The instruction sheet doesn't list a brand, is in Kilometers Per Hour (KPH), and has a print-date of April 2006.
I haven't tried it yet. Thanks if you can ID it! |

It's not an OEM cruise control. It's a Rostra. They made it specifically for the '06-'07 Yaris. It's a decent enough looking install though.

We have a winner!
Great, that's it! Thanks. I'm not planning any highway driving this week, but hope to try out the CC as soon as possible.
Having it on the car makes me think the 44000 miles from the first owner, in three years, may be mostly highway miles. Second owner only put a couple of thousand miles on it, probably all in or near town. |

Note that there is an "issue" with these cruise controls...
Rostra Cruise Control Safety Warning I have one in my 08 LB and have had no problems with it in three years. Cheers! M2

My '07 hatch has the same CC and I've never had a problem with it. *knocks on wood*

Works great!
I finally went for a highway drive where I could try this cruise control for a long distance. Worked great! And like other German controllers, it kept the speed range extremely narrow (less than +/-0.5 MPH). I'll keep it installed!

Yeah, and while it may not be "factory;" mine was installed by the dealership. I don't use it a lot, but the few times I have it has worked great and it's a Godsend on long trips...
