a/c zoo odor and no cabin filter
As title states, my 08 Yaris has a smell and when I popped off the glove box, there was nothing over the fan but the white plastic. I opened plastic door and nothing behind it. I plan on installing a filter but do not see anything that could be causing smell. Anyone else missing a filter?

Do a search for AC smell and you will see a bunch of threads on this. The smell is coming from within the airbox (the large white plastic assembly that the fan assembly is attached to).

Prior to 2010, none came with the filter unless the dealer installed it. My 09 didn't have one, but fortunately I found YW just before I bought it, so on my way home from picking it up I grabbed a filter.

You'd have it on a 06+ if you were in Canada. Canadian dealer would install it on 00-05 Echo if the heater core freezes.

I put in a filter and squirted some water/bleach up the A/c drain. Smell seems to be gone, not sure what did it but I'm happy. Thanks for the comments.
