Rock stuck inside rotor... Turns out the slider pin was frozen too!
Well I've been severely annoyed by this tinking sound that only occurs at 5-10 mph. It's been going on for the past few weeks. Turns out there was a pebble trapped inside of the rotor.
Originally thought it might be a rock that my tire guy accidentally put inside the actual tire when mounting them, but nope. It still clicked when I turned the hub with the wheel off. Here's a video of the sound it made. http://youtu.be/79KPXKrsZao Here's a picture of the pebble. And we happened to discover and free up the slider pin that was corroded to hell on the passenger side. Here's a picture of the lower vs upper slide pins after we took them out. We cleaned them off with a wheel brush a lubed them up good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
