Getting new battery.
I have done some research and type 35 is the battery I need.
My only option is canadian tire so I was thinking on the optima redtop. Thing is the vehicle selection thingy says its not compatible? It says Group Size 34/78,so I assume anything in this size.Perhaps its the post/s being more toward the center? https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/o...?rrec=true#spc Again my only option is Canadian tire so my choices are limited. |

Why not this one if you want an Optima battery:
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/o...-0100021p.html It's a group 35. The Red Top you posted won't fit probably due to dimensions, but more importantly terminal locations. The Yaris needs the posts facing rearward, and the positive on towards the right hand side (left if you're looking at the battery from the front of the car), and negative post on the left hand side. That Red Top is the opposite. |

Now, if you're dead set on getting a group 34 Red Top, you can try wedging this 34R Red Top in.
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/o...-0100013p.html At least the posts should be oriented correctly for the Yaris. |

My current battery is this 800CCA group 34R Canadian Tire SKU# 010-0013-6 which fits fine... my own use/duty was also red rather than yellow top.

Costco ftw. Approximately 20% cheaper than Canadian Tire's cheapest battery for one that is more superior. Why most people will pay an outrageous premium for Optimum eludes me.

I got a Kirkland battery when I replaced the battery on my first Yaris. For my HB now, I wanted to get an AGM battery, so I got a Duralast Platinum AGM (I think that's what it was).
