Congrats on your new Y! Yeah we got stuck with an Emo of a clutch, but you won't even notice it after about a month

I only test drove the MT Yaris once and all I remember was it took alot of clutch pedal release before the clutch engaged. By that time I had the engine rev'd up really high because I had started pressing the throttle. The car salesman even asked me if I'd ever driven an MT before. (I've owned three MT cars)

Is that the same thing you guys are complaining about with the MT clutch?

yeah, my problem is more with the DBW + clutch -- the pedal is laggy so it's harder than usual to finesse 1st gear.

I just stomp the throttle and when I start to hear it roar, I pop the clutch. Problem solved.

I don't really know how to explain it, but I find that the Yaris requires a bit of an expert touch, IMO. First gear especially is a b*tch

. Yeah, it does take a while.

Oh yeah...I host my pics on photobucket, they also have an option to auto resize the pics for avatars, forum posts, blog posts and etc etc. The option is right there when you load the pics up.

Well i did a wash, claybarred, and waxed my yaris earlier today. I wasnt able to get good pictures outside because it was so bright...the pictures just didnt look good. So i pulled in to my garage and took some shiner pics. My personal camera has gone missing so i used my mom's coolpics camera with a low battery.

Sorry no wax on wax off pics...

I use Meguiar's products exclusively when detailing. More specifically the Deep crystal car wash, Smooth surface claykit, and the Gold Class Wax Paste. Applied with the supplied applicator pad and removed with microfiber cloths.

Using a claybar before waxing or polishing is a must IMO. What you do is you take a piece of clay (automotive clay such as the Meguiar's kit), you spray a lubricant (in this case Meguiars Quick Spray wax or w/e it is), and you rub the clay along the paint covering all areas of the car. What it does is it removes dirt and other things that a normal soap wash couldnt remove. Once you are done claying a portion of the car, you will notice the clay will become dirty on the side you rubbed. You simply fold it over and over again till you're done with the entire process..

The purpose of this is to remove dirt that wash didnt, and to make the paint feel smooth. It is also used to strip older wax in order to put on a new coat (although not always necessary). After you're done claying, and waxing...the claybar step makes the wax feel even smoother.

Tomato..
The claybar process is the shortest IMO. Took 10 minutes for me to cover the entire car. Took 45-60 minutes for me to hand wax.

EDIT: this is a picture of the clay that i used about a year ago on my truck. The picture was taken after i claybarred the roof of my Ford Ranger...

the pic is slightly red because of the camera. And yes that is a hair on the clay ... >.>

BTW, getting used to the Yaris clutch makes me drive a S2k like a noob. Its great.
