Is insurance covering the cost of the car?

My roomate had an old 97 Jeep Cherokee total'd by a drunk driver while it was parked on the side of a road. He got $2,500 out of it - $500 more than he bought the car for a year earlier. Hopefully you can get a fat check of the value of the yaris towards a new one!

Yes, I have full coverage. As for the fat check, there might not be much of a chance of that happening seeing as she already had a salvage title before the wreck. I'm hoping to get at least $3,000 for her.

This sucks dude. Sorry to see this.

Of course it's "fixable" but of course no insurance company would touch this type of damage on a 140,000 mile Yaris. If it was a year old, maybe.

This type of thing is always a shame because 140K on a Yaris is just getting started which means it's much more valuable to the owner than simply the market value.

Update (kinda sorta, not really): I finally got the obvious "news" from my insurance yesterday. Maybe next week I'll finally get that check.

This. I was hoping to get to at least double that mileage before even beginning to consider a replacement (though highly unlikely to follow through).
