Congrats! It's good to reassess your life from time to time! If you can, definitely go your own way and start your own company- I did in 2004 after 15 years in the field and 8.5 with the same company

ok.. i feel just laughing. Not at you WeeYari. I got fed up, after 5 years in an inventory services company. (RGIS, pretty some of you guys may know this company). I got promotions pretty fast, and ended in a managerial position within 3 years. I hated the company.. with all the overtime, and doing everything others didn't want to do. Mostly did not have a life while working there.
So, i said screw it and took some classes for a year, and now i'm getting paid sitting at the office, most the time, and going on YW.com :) and that, only 4.5km away from home. Enjoy your free time! Have good time with your family! |

You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

Wee is around. Taking a bit of a break here too.
Announcements starting going out late Tuesday. This is now becoming a very emotional week as word goes outward through my circles of influence. When you start to see people tear up, hear over and over again phrase like 'Your legacy', 'Positive influence'. and 'Positive impact', you really start to reflect on all the good things that had kept me going fo 19 years. One thing that will really suck is the loss of my company laptop and the aircard along with it. I live within one of those small rare pockets where, outside of satellite, high speed access is not available. Gonna have to go back to dial-up which is absolutey BBBBRRRRUUUUTTTTAAAALLLLLLLLLL.

You don't get a package when you leave by your own choice. So, no.
What I did get is a life where the sun has started to shine again.

Wow!
I just had a chance to read your post. That is quite the gutsy move but it sounds like it was the right thing to do for you so props to you for making the hard decision. I wish you all the best! |

The end is here.
Hard to believe that I am about to start my last day.
Check out a parting gift my staff presented me with. They made a rendition of my license plate, incorporated my years of service, company logo, and modified the provincial tag line. They then had a life size version printed, mounted, signed by everyone, and framed. How personal is that!

It's the team you'll miss the most. You sound relaxed more than ever now. The BS is behind you now. |

AWwww.. that's touching!!! But you made a decision for a reason, so don't look back now. The people, you can always stay in touch with, but look forward. No regrets! :)

I left for a lot of reasons about 3 months ago as well. I don't regret it.
I feel like a weight has been lifted from me. No more stress, no more running around, ylled at, yelling at people, frustration at those who dont listen yet the blame goes somewhere else. I hated the BS too at my job, so I quit. Of course took all my vacation first and then gave a thre week notice. Except I did things differently, I made my boss promise me no one would find out when I was leaving, and the day I left, was midday and no one saw me, I just walked out, and never seen or spoken to anyone again. Just the way I wanted it, just the way I want it to stay. On good terms wih the higher up's, but I couldnt give 2 $7s about anyone else. Hope everything works for you. As for me, I have become lazy, took a break from school, about to collect unemployement, and doing jobs on the side whenever they come my way. Now im just trying to get by. But atleast Im not single ;) My GF works at a hospital as an office manager, so she is alright and helping me out. |
