One reason we expect somewhat lower gas prices is because the US oil companys get billions of dollars in taxpayer's money in subsidies for an industry that is filthy rich in record profits that run in the billions of Dollars! This has be the case for many years!
It should be remembered that "profits" are just whatever is left over after everything is payed: stock holders/ R&D and ......absoutly everything else. They of course, do not pay any US taxes..... we pay them! So, yeah, I demand somewhat lower gas prices in rerturn! BTW, there is now a bill before the US congress to elminate the tax payer subsidies of the US oil industry. However, the US congress is now disfunctional for the most part. US gas stokkpiles are currently very high. However, gas is just one of the many by prducts of crude. We could all drive electric cars but, we would still need as much oil for the multitude of other crude products like jet fuel, plastics, etc. This is one all important detail that politicians purposely omit! Stay on track, please!
Yeah, I realize that the comment that started it was somewhat inflammatory but come on, now, direct insults toward other members on here are never OK. If we can't even discuss the price of gas between us, I mean, honestly ... |

It's okay, tomato, I've been insulted by far better people than why? and for worse reasons. Nothing like time in the military to learn that. Besides, it must be nice to be perfect, eh?

In all fairness, you remember that the vast majority of the members are US-based, right? and you knew that comment was a little borderline? Of course, those very same US-based members don't remember that a portion of the membership on here is NOT US- based and also entitled to their opinions... Moving on I guess. @Mike : sorry, I don't know anything about iPhone apps. This was a cheapo app I used back when I had XP. Corel used to sell it for about $20 and it did a pretty good job at fixing most photos. There was an "oil painting" setting and it looked just like your shot up there ;) T |
