lol no I used one of those barb couplers. I finally broke down and did the chip swap and coolant bypass. I have the gasket maker setting overnight and look forward to testing it out tomorrow morning.

Good luck! Hope that gets that problem solved on your end.
I'm also considering capping the (now useless) tubes... What did you use for that?

Just a few inches of rubber tubing with a little brass plug on the end. I found the plug's at Lowe's in the same section as the barb union coupler.

did everybody trim the OEM TB gasket to allow more air flow as t-sport did?

No good so far. Oscillation is way worse at cold start up than before the chip swap and I got a CEL within 10 minutes of driving :(

I'm still getting 37-38mpg per tank with the 1ZZ TB...and I've had it on for nearly 1000 miles so far.

Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I'm putting the stock TB back on tomorrow. I can handle the CEL but the oscillation is a little scary. After the chip swap, it oscillates very heavily from 2k to 3k for almost 2 minutes.

do this, put the stock TB back and drive it for over a week with out doing and or trying anything at all and then swap the chip back to 1zz and try it again, this helps your ecu to remember the normal setup, then give it a fresh try after that. it worked for me.

I concur with T-Sport. Giving it a 2nd try made it work for me too.

35-38 mpg now for 3k miles with new TB. No issues at all, except high cold idle. I really think it's worth it.

I love the performance of the 1ZZ but the harsh oscillation is a killer. So I should reinstall the stock TB & chip for a week or so and then start over with the 1ZZ and chip swap?

That worked for me. You may be getting ocillation due to an air leak. Make sure you did the gasket maker correctly and really let it set up a long time (I let mine set up overnight). Check also the intake for leaks.

I pulled mine back off, waited a week, did the chip swap again, and re-installed and have had no probs since.

Did you get CEL and oscillation the first time you did the chip swap?
