When you use the remote to lock the doors, the "unlock" button inside the car NO LONGER WORKS!
I found this out the hard way when the wife locked the keys in the trunk in a rainstorm on the weekend. If I had known this, I would have went for the trunk release first...

Yes, but by the look of the "chicks" driving Yaris they're better know as Panthers (next stage after Cougar).

I took a little trip from the 13th of August through the 27th -- Drove through TX-OK-KS-MO-IA-NE-IA-SD-ND-MN-WI-IL-IN-MI-IN-IL-MO-OK-TX (Mainly to see a baseball game in Kansas City (hadn't been to that ballpark since the renovations), to visit a friend in ND, and to go to Four Winds in MI). I stopped in Branson, MO for 3 nights on the way back. One morning (as I was leaving Panera Bread) in Branson, I saw a 3rd Gen Yaris 3-door that had pulled in 2 spaces away from my Yaris while I was inside. It had just been waxed and had quite a few accessories. The way it looked, I assumed the owner was young. I walked around the back on the way to my car and the back window had a sticker in one corner that read 'Razorback Grandma'. In the opposite corner was a sticker shaped like a football. I imagine her grandson is on the University of Arkansas football team. A day or so after I got home I saw a white 2nd Gen Yaris 3-door at The Woodlands Mall. The rear window had a sticker on it that read SHSU MOM (Sam Houston State University), but the bumper had a sticker on it that read 'Don't Mess with Texas Grandmas'.

Increase Your Visability!

If you drive alone (mostly) you can remove the 3 other headrests and the ability to see out of the car increases dramatically. I boxed up the rear headrests along with the original floor mats - but I keep the passenger head rest in the back so I can pop it back in if someone is along with me.
Really amazed how it makes it easier to see out of the car

^^ Agreed. Even better when you take out the rear seat.

Well I like the 'my car came with a back seat I think I'll leave it in' look
If I get a yearning for the 'gutted' look, I'll add a Chevy Express Van to our collection!

I took all 4 of my headrests out (along with the armrest) right after I got my Yaris. I have 3 headrests and my armrest stored in a box. The other headrest is at my cousin's house in California....if i'm driving my little cousin anywhere, her mom wants her to be in a seat with a headrest.

I took mine out for the same reason you did (plus ease re pulling things in the back seat onto the passenger seat).

Huh! After three years, this is the first time I saw this. Gotta go snip-snip this weekend.

I wonder why Toyota did that...

I'd also never seen it before. I've even read posts from other members complaining about that shortcut (I think it is irritating as well and will also snip-snip). The only reason I can think of for manufacturing it that way is to perhaps help hold the blade dowb during shipping?

One thing I uncovered while fiddling with the radio (PT546-52120) in my 2012 Yaris was the EQ came preset for a five-door instead of a three-door. On page 9 of my radio manual, I learned I could set the EQ for my car's body style. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this previously, but it was news to me.

Yes, that's why I leave the passenger head rest in the back...If I have someone along, a head rest is extremely important in case of an 'accident' ()
