Question Just bought my Yaris - drink holder question.

Hi everyone,

I'm going to pick up my 2009 Yaris today and I'm so excited! I was wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket drink holder that works well.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I picked up my Yaris yesterday and found that the cup holders near the AC vents worked really well. Bonus, the AC will keep my drinks nice and cold with the 115 degree heat in Phoenix. Thanks to those who replied with suggestions. I was concerned about the functionality.

You need an aftermarket drink holder to go with the seven already in the car? How many drinks are you drinking at once?

The drink holder by the steering wheel is great for keeping your drinks cool. Open the vent so the air hits the bottle/can, set the circulation to the air vents and put the A/C on, voila Cold drink!

Its also a great place to have your drink spill on your knee if its too full,
uncapped drinks are definitely out of the question.

So cap your drinks. No aftermarket drink holder's going to fix that.

I was thinking the same thing.

What are you people drinking out of? Full 5 gallon buckets without lids?

And a great place to turn your cold beverage nice and hot if used when the heat is on.

FFS, guys - buy a frikkin' portable kitchen for the back seat so you can make your donuts while you drive as well. :sarcasm:

If you don't want your drink to get hot in the holder, then close that vent off pro tem. It ain't rocket science...

no thanks on the donuts, but a latte machine would work. With an IV drip, even better.

If I may interrupt the thread to provide an answer to the OP's question, here's a drink holder that has worked well for me. It's fairly stable and contains minor spills. I just set it on the floor of the passenger footwell. Hope this helps...

I have considered making an insert for my dash drink holder for my coffee mug as when it's full it sometimes tips back when I accelerate and spills a little bit, even w/ the lid. Making an insert that the base of the mug fits into that prevents it from moving around would make that holder absolutely perfect.

As for its position, it's AWESOME! Far better than the center console cup holders that are in your way while shifting or just resting your arm!!

The tall slender commuter mugs works for me. I had to give up my wide stainless steel mug with the heavy rubberized handle. I've gotten use to the slender 20 oz. without handle.

Looks like a good one. But you know, no matter what you buy, if you really hit the brakes ... the mug or whatever you use better have some kind of self-sealing lid, no matter where you put it.
