I am looking to purchase a set of tires for a set of 17" I bought. The tires that I really want do not come in size 205/40/17 they do come in 215/45/17. I have a stock yaris, will going up 1 tire size have an effect on the car or will they even fit? I also am planning on puttting the Trd springs on and will having 215's giving me rubbing issues.

Those are some meaty tires. Most people go with 205/40/17, so I would find a tire that you like that comes in that size.

205/45/17 is the JDM OEM tyre size for stock suspension. With a mild drop like the TRD springs, you can still run 205/45's without issues.

EDIT: What are your wheel specs... width and offset?

I drive fairly aggressively on german "up/down all over the place" roads and I have been running 215/40/17s for a bit with no rubbing. I just have stock/dealer Eibach lowing springs and nothing else of note(for another week or so). 45s.... you might get a rub.

I have TRD suspension with 215/35/18's on TRD wheels. They rub up front over dips and bumps at speed. I'll be getting the camber adjusted soon in hope of rub relief. These TRD wheels are labelled: offset -42.

My wheels are 17x7 width offset of +42. Can anyone then recommend any good 205/40's tires that are all season. The tires I want are the continental extreme DWS (dry wet snow). I live in northwest NJ and was planning on using these tires all year round, and these tires are one of the best all season tires. I have a set on my Audi and they are great in snow.

I have Extreme DWS on my 07 Wrx (stock size, 215/45R17) and they have been great. They aren't as grippy as the previous generation all-season extreme contact (which were aggressive directional treads), but have been good for almost a full year now. A year here has included 100+ degrees F, and 16 inches of snow

So if 215 tires are too wide what would be the best size that I should get? I travel about 60 miles a day and am looking for some tires that have at little side wall. Would 205/45/17 give me problems? I am planning on putting a set of TRD springs and am concerned about wheel rubbing issues. I know 205/40's are the way to go but the roads here in jersey really suck. You can swim in some of the potholes on our roads.

If you're roads really suck with potholes that bad, you should have gone with 16s. Get the 205/45s, and still keep your fingers crossed every time you slam through a pothole.

Shouldn't have any issues on your 17x7 +42 wheels with a TRD drop.

anyboby looking for new tires brand name nankang 205-40-17 for $58.00 each but they have to be will called in riverside ca no other options email me if your interested i have had many different tires and sizes also i am running nankangs right now they are a good tire for the money . but if you want to spend double the money for the brand name tire go for it
