You can't disable it without a scan tool. I had mine disabled for free.

the chime makes sure that you buckle up, so when, if, a bigger vehicle, basically every other vehicle, hits you, or you hit another vehicle, you stay in your seat. if you dont like your seat belt for dumb reasons what-so-ever you could always get a motorcycle and kill yourself on that just as easy.

Scan tool is the easiest way, or you can unplug/cut the wire goint to the seatbelt and short it out. This will make it think that the seatbelt is always clicked in.

You obviously never use the passenger seat for anything but a person.

scanguage only communicates with engine... you need an actual Toyota scan tool to communicate with other control units such as SRS, ABS, HVAC, Seat belts, etc...

easy there big guy, the reason that i want this disabled is because i cant have my books or backpack on the seat without the thing causing a rawkus. And for your information i also own a motorcycle and have yet to kill myself on that.

Well looks like i will have to contact the dealer with the problem and see what i can have done. if they wont touch it then i will just wire it so it allways thinks the belt is plugged in, nothing bad will happen except that if my passenger doesnt have there seat belt on it wont notify me, this i can live with.

Yup I agree with Katana, I have the same prob with gym bag/backpack setting it off. Though annoying it stops by the time I leave my street.

Not to beat a dead horse but, if the weight shifts it reactivates it. I have had it go off 4 times in a 1 hour commute.

doesnt work.... this is what i thought to do;there must be a relay/chip in the acutal seat belt...

I personally buckel all the time, but it is annoying when I'm working on stuff (cleaning interior, ect) and i have the car on so I dont wear the batt down and the shit dings for 12+ secs....

maybe I just made bad contacts with the wire... I'll try this again either tonight or tomorrow and let you guys know.
