Yaris Beach Patrol aka Lesson Learned
We all make bad decisions from time to time. I made one yesterday. Luckily, no damage, and a guy with a 4x4 pulled me out. Lesson learned. More photos, story below. http://www.subcompactculture.com/200...ch-patrol.html

you beach is so dark!
here's one thats 5 mins from my house seriously though, its awesome you are allowed to drive on the beach, I think that would make for some cool photo ops but in Panama City we have sea turtle ordinances that prohibit the public from doing so... glad you got out ok!

A four wheel drive will get stuck when you go on loose sand. If you stay on compacted sand you're OK.

Mine did just fine at the beach, although that was when it was 100% stock, and I stayed on compact sand.

Yeah .. You will need compacted sand to do that. This isn't Japan where they offer a 4WD model.
I dunno, I don't suggest taking a Yaris on the beach in the first place anyway ... actually any 2wd car.

Yeah, that's when I had the off-roader yaris, lol.
I have to agree Andy, the SX4 would have been a better choice for the beach! |
