I shove you onto MI? You're kidding, right?

That's hilarious. Sort of.

I was merely pointing out that if the forum goes down for a couple of days, it's not a huge big deal for us since there are alternate ways to get a hold of each other or even find information.

That Garm may have a problem, I can see that. But seriously, let's not act like spoiled little kids, shall we?! That's all I'm saying.

(not that I don't see your point about the shoving, I do. But please keep your facts straight about who is doing the shoving. I assure you it isn't me! )

Exactly how much money do we spend to belong on this site?
So it was down for a couple of days.
Did the world end?
I believe the purpose of this site is to promote the Yaris, and what each
one of us can do, or did to our cars,(and maybe even become friends).
Did I notice any changes? No.
Would I like to see a 2012 on the front page? Sure.
Maybe the admins. have a life, I don't know them, but would like to meet
them and thank them for this site.
If we don't stick together we lose everything. Believe me I lost alot in my life.

I like it here on YarisWorld. At least I owned one of those and an Echo in years past. Stop trying to shove me onto MI. It's not a comfortable fit for me.

This forum still picks up more international users and new people, which is what keeps things interesting here for me, but the reason they end up here instead of there is that this site has a higher search engine rating. That search engine rating is what keeps money flowing for the site owners without them having to be active participants.

If we did move exclusively to MI, it would be great if a lot of threads on this site could be moved over and put in an archive.

Honestly, folks, I fail to see what all the fuss is about. If this was 15 years ago, using a dial-up modem on a Usenet group, a 2-day outage would be nothing.
Yeah - I KNOW it's not 15 years ago, but if you can't live without YW for 2 days you need to get out more.
If this site is "going down" as so many here would have us believe, then that fact has missed me completely. The fact that so many are arguing the point means there are lots of people "in here". Stop posting bitchy crap, and start posting interesting stuff - it's up to you.

My 2-cents.

Besides me (which covers way more than either of those options) is TireRack.com and I guarantee you they are paying something decent to have the whole Wheel/Tire forum named after them.

The forum software is a one-time purchase, and we've all seen the lack of plug-ins, so I don't there there are extra expenses there.

Just keeping that part of it real, since I'm paying for the privilege.
exactly. Plus the Tire Rack banner on the top of the forum. Use to have several different companies alternating.

This creates more problems than anything else. Both you and PK think it is fine to attack members and call them names. As much as anything else the mods are the reason this type of drama happens on YW.

***** sigh ******

@why: when did PK or I attack members and call them names?!! Are you sure you don't have that backwards?!! The mods are responsible for the drama, now?!! You must be kidding. If you mean me, I have barely posted anything in months... so.. whatever

@Tony: thanks for all the quotes, but you didn't find one of mine, so I rest my case ;P Yes, I know that in the past I have commended the work they've done with the forum from the ground up at MI, I've said they do a good job and I have tried to discourage people from having a "them v. us" mentality since we all share the same interest (cars), so in my view I think it's rather silly. But I also have tried to discourage people who troll on here basically trying to rack up members and saying "this place sucks, come on over to [other forum], it's so much better". So if you are saying that I encouraged friendship between the forums rather than division, you are correct. But please do not jump to conclusions and say that I'm pushing you there. I'm not. I may be one of the very few here that does not. So get your facts straight.

OK, one more time, I'm gonna clean up the thread and ask that you refrain from personal attacks (you know who you are ;)

My only suggestion is that if YB is not gonna be online at least every couple days, he should appoint someone to an admin position that is here almost every day. That way, if there are any changes(such as a name change), then it can be handled quick and easy, without just giving up on it.

Here goes...... http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...0&postcount=31

I saw no need to repost it as I'd already posted it. If you bothered to read my post I did declare that you weren't the only one. In fact you didn't try to shove, so I apologise. But, you did use the MI word and after seeing it a half a dozen times already it was the straw that broke the camels back for me.

The mods here, especially you, are the only ones that give a shit about yw these days, oh and a handful of members and Garm.

As for cleaning up the thread, thanks. (but the troll deserved it).

The name calling and mud slinging is likely WHY many members have left or remain silent . , is a rare commodity these days in person and via the internet .

Some of the entire point is being missed. You want to call me a child and whiner because yes it is 2012 and I would HOPE that a site owner might be more involved then fine. I personally have had a lot of invested time and effort in the site as so many others have and attempt to encourage people on the street of all ages many times looking like a complete goob I am sure for trying to wrestle up new members. Complaining about the site being down for hours a day or a couple days in a row? HELL YES!

I have a very nice lady around 60 years old that I have given a YW card to just before X-mas. I tried to get her to come on at that time and ran into her a few weeks ago. She doesn't have internet at home so she goes to her grandson's house. She saw me in one of the isles at the local grocer and asked me if I was the gentleman that gave her the YW card...she showed it to me. I told her yes and was pretty impressed that my time wasn't wasted. She has a Yaris because her grandson raves about his. She told me that she tried to get on a couple weeks prior and that the page wouldn't come up so she wanted to be sure it was still valid. I told her that she should give it another try. Now fast forward to this afternoon. I ran into her again today. I approached her this time and asked if she had checked it out. She said that she had tried again during another one of the morning outages. She wanted to get some input on buying her grandson a "really cool" item for his LB, but she said that she just didn't want to keep trying and so she just asked me there for some ideas. It really sucks.

I logged into MI (yep, I said it) on my phone and introduced her to the site for the forum and shop. I showed her some stuff for ideas. You can take away what you want from this. You can even call BS on me, but I know that I am speaking the truth. Quit trying to play the "free" card and quit trying to downplay the efforts that are put in to the community by the Mods, vendors, and regular members.

Some of us take it seriously and also attempt to voice issues/concerns in a constructive manner, but after a while just get fed up. We are only human. All you are doing is eroding what we had built.

Are you talking to anyone in particular? Just curious.

If it's me you're talking to, I can answer

Through the last few threads regarding the site being down there have been several people that have referenced it one way or another.
