Wow, SolarVitz, that ship model in the background is a real beauty! Models like that are kinda rare; the only other examples I've seen were in a museum in Exeter...

aawwwww, don't be. You can do it too. I'm pretty sure they're still doing that course

One thing, though, if you're sensitive to heat, don't do it in the middle of the summer.

I wasn't prepared for the heat factor. I did it in the middle of the Summer, and by noon, with the fireproof suit / helmet, it felt like 120 degrees in there (was probably well over 100 degrees out in the sun anyway). The engine probably releases some heat as well, and you're pretty much laying right under it - or it feels that way.

So takes that in consideration if you register. Otherwise it was grrrrrrrrrrreat! I need to do it again.

I wish I had the $5g to spend on the race course. Unfortunately for me, it's all about saving to try to buy a home. It's never ending.

Oh I know all about racing in the heat!! I've done track days on my bike at Streets of Willow and Buttonwillow... in the middle of summer. I'm pretty sure that when I was at Streets of Willow (near Palmdale) it was well over a hundred. Now factor in full leathers, helmet, and a hot bike between my legs. It was torture! Well, not the machinery between my legs anyway. Just the heat! lol

For fun.... (I can't remember which I've posted on here before, but I'll add my favorites again)

^

I remember you Pix like that ^ you don't forget
Plus, if memory serves, you said you had a CRX as a project at one point

You could post a whole thread of these pix ^ as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, I'm with ya, saving money FTW!! But you have to budget for fun stuff as well now and then.

Yeah... I'm the one who's intro thread went on instant lock down. Huge bummer when you're trying to get into a new forum. lol

And yes, I had an 88 crx hf that I ended up selling to make room in my garage for the bike. At the time I was working on a turbo ls/vtec and just finished blueprinting the motor (just about to sleeve the block) when the finances went dry for the project. Oh well... I'd love to get back into it, but I have better priorities. :(

Yeah, sorry about that.
Was before my time, but I think I understand what happened.

haha... the intro thread is a funny read. I couldn't believe how fast it was policed just because I posted some pics! lol I've been so busy with life lately, I haven't been able to keep up with another forum (aside from my motorcycle forums, and hockey stuff). But, I think I'm at a good place and can multitask sufficiently again. :D

Don't take it personally. The mod who locked your thread down back then probably saw what was coming (after a while in the forum, you start knowing the personalities and you can see what's coming a bit ahead of time). Looks like some of the young guys on here couldn't handle pics of a hot girl on a bike

I guess you're just gonna have to repost new pics

yeah, people drop in and out of the forum. It's all good.

allright I'll shut up now, this is a pic thread after all

Yep, that is your average iguana. His name is Joe. I adopt the old cranky ones nobody wants and they live in luxury here for the rest of their lives. Joe has his sweet moments like in that picture. And yes, I love his tail too. He's the first one I have had with a complete tail.
