dash remover tool

Anyone tell me what they used to pull the dash out with? Butterknife? Special tools? Screwdriver. I changed out my maplights and dome but these bulbs are on the way and I am not sure on the dash removal. I have diagrams but the manual gets a little carried away. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you mean the radio and climate control area, you just yank out the two side pieces first, fromt he bottom (the ones with the emergency blinkers button), then the gauges trim, then the radio trim, then the climate control area. Just yank them out, no tools needed but the 10 pinkish sausages attached to your arms

cool, thanks

I thought I might need a screwdriver or something to get the things to pop out. I'll try when I get my bulbs.

Most of this car can actually just be yanked out, like a giant Snap-On model

Changed the knob bulbs out no problems. That was easy. Guess I was just scared to pull on the stuff but like you said it all popped right out. Feeling of accomplishment. Now I am looking into the shifter light change. Is this just as easy?

Shifter light is easy in the automatic transmision models. Pull off the bottom "lip" underneath the center cosole and you will be able to figure it out from there!

Thanks I got the procedure from Violin so I'll give it a try this weekend. I'll have to take the arm rest out too. Doesn't sound to complicated. I appreciate the help.

I get at least two PMs a week asking how to get at the shifter bulb. Here it is for everyone:

Take the felt pad out of the bottom of the cup holder in your console. Remove the bolt in there (10mm?). Pop out whatever electronics you have by your hand brake and unplug them. Then just lift the entire console up from the rear. There are two clips holding the front of it that just pop out. The shifter bulb is on the left hand side of the shifter.
