SCP10 Echo mods/compatibility

I have a customer asking what parts are compatible between our Yaris and a 2000 Vitz/Echo (SCP10). He is in Italy and he's interested in:

sway and strut bars
wheels
seats
brakes
exhaust

Any comments would be appreciated, I'm a little fuzzy on this information.

I THINK, the 2000 Vitz is based on the Echo. So.. If it'll work on our Echo, I think it'll work on that Vitz.

/edit. I mean Echo/Vitz based off of whatever. YOu know what I ment.

yeah, got it. It's definitely an Echo, just image-Google "SCP10".

the question is what parts from our "2nd gen" will fit on that car?

i want to sell him parts.

Hello, I'm the guy asking for infos XD

As Cali said, I have an SCP10 Yaris, which is the first model of this car, in the italian market since 1999 to 2004. The next series is the NCP13, whic is actually in commerce.

My yaris is not a sedan, as the models in USA, but is this:

yoi can call it hatchback, or as you want...

in my country, there aren't many parts for my car. Just some air filters and some trash-looking body kit.

Im looking for something that doesn't exist in Italy. I saw for example the miracle X rear bar, the tanabe exhaust and the DF210 springs.

But these are parts only for the sedan one !!

I want to know if these parts are suitable for my car.

Thank you everyone, and thank you cali !!

Those parts all fit our liftback/hatchback, and the sedan (except for the X bar)

You're welcome, I hope some other 1st gen owners can post up their opinions!

Nice thread! Should help us newer-gen Yaris owners find compatible parts as well!

from my studies, i dont think the exhaust is compatable from the ncp10 to the yaris...and vice versa

springs are different too

to be honest, you really want to be looking more at the scion xa and gen1 xb...though often the spring rates will be different, more parts are shared (ie suspension, exhaust)

unfortunately, in north america, the echo was far from a hit in the tuner market and the echo hatchback was only available in canada for 04 and 05....so not a lot of parts kicking around in general

bottom line: search for xa/xb1 parts

so Scion XA, XB1 are probably the same model of my car, "dressed" in a different way?

Ok for chassis and suspension, but I have the 1SZ-FE engine, which is 1.0L, instead of 1.3

I know that is difficult to find something for a 1.0L engine in your country, but this is my problem, and this is why I'm asking in here.

thank you thebarber for you answers XD

if you take a pic of the axleback section of your exhaust, maybe someone can tell you if a north american echo/xa/xb exhaust will work...

the xA/xB exhaust will not work. The mounts are the same, but the pipe between the axleback and the cat are of different length.

caliyaris, there exist many TRD parts of this over 8 years old car. Tanabe made springs for the echo (sedan) but the hatchback uses the same spring/struts. I was going to get the Tanabe sustec full coilovers a while back.
They have TRD sportivo full coilovers kit, trd strut bar, trd underbrace, trd sway bar, TWN short shifter.

borla made an exclusive dual enter exit exhaust for the Canadian market.

your customer should be looking in France or UK for yaris parts. Maybe not in UK, but in France, those guys are pretty crazy on their yaris.

are you sure? because I've searched all over europe, and there are many parts only for 1.3 and 1.5<l engines. my first problem is my 1.0L engine, whic is uncommon between tuners.

sway and strut bars - No
wheels - Yes
seats - Yes, but rails would be different.
brakes - Unsure but I don't think so. I think the Yaris got larger discs and different pads.
exhaust - Very unlikely due to him having a 1sz-fe motor.

Demon, your best bet would be to find a broker in Japan and jump on Yahoo Japan. Here is a search I did for items listed under "scp10".
