Modifications

How much horsepower does everyone car has? Currently, I put car around 120 horsepower. Also what kind of modifications has everyone done to their cars plus what future modifications within the next month do u plan to do?

So far I bought a StreetFX Lighting Kit through my sponsors. I also have a weapon-R Short Ram, Megan Axle-back Muffler, along with tinted windows, racing pedals and racing knob, tinted windows, steering wheel cover and seats.

For as modifications within the next month, I plan on dropping a Megan Racing Header, 17" rims on Potenza tires(if Potenza goes up to 17s) bucket seats and racing steering wheel, along with fixing up neon on the interior.

I know the 1NZFE in the xBs typically dyno around 90-95 hp to the wheels. You're lucky if you'd gain 7 hp from intake, header, and axleback.

well besides the major upgrades like that put in the synthetic oil, octane booster, and other minor upgrade i like to use that pushes it to around 120.

Besides any little thing u can do to ur car helps in the long run.

you pushed it up to 120hp from weapon-R Short Ram, Megan Axle-back Muffler, tinted windows, racing pedals and racing knob, steering wheel cover and seats, synthetic oil, octane booster, and other minor upgrade? sounds about right! lol

there are no performance gains from adding octane booster, period.

these additives will only make a difference with higher compression pistons or forced induction or nitrous where knock becomes more of a problem, use the fuel that you are told in your owners manual.

in a nutshell the octane is there to slow the burn (in milliseconds or less) of the fuel to prevent knock.

I'm gonna be nice here. You are not at 120hp. Octane booster does nothing but take cash out of your wallet. Those things only raise like .2 octane points man, total scam. If you need higher octane, which you don't. You run real race gas. You don't want to do this in your car though, again you would be wasting money and race gas runs rich,so you might run like crap.

The megan header has not proven to gain any hp that i've seen, and possible a loss at low end, which makes a slow car...really slow.

The intake realisticly might get you some hp on a cold night,or even lose some on a hot day(metal pipe vs. rubber plastic). It makes the car sound cool though,so its a plus.

Mufflers are only going to make your car louder,Ill be a nice guy and say if you eliminate the cat and run bigger pipe out to the back you could proably get some power, maybe with just a slight loss to low end torque. So I'd say you are at a good 107 hp with all your mods. maybe even 109 on a super cold night. But thats still about 95whp.

The stock engine gives around 90Hp to the wheels. With some luck you might be close the the 100wHP.

120HP

hey i see you only have 4 posts in this forum, my advice is to do a lot of research on the engine and modifications. you can see actual dyno charts of stock engines around 85-87whp, a long way from 120whp.

i'm sorry but buying octane "boosters" is nothing but a waste of money, plus the fact that you don't need them at all. stick around and we'll give you the right info to follow to modify your car.

also potenzas do go up to 17" fyi.

The real question is, how many stickers do you have. They are what make you fast...

I know, sometimes we can't help jumping all over someone, but...

this thread could have been copied right off of ScionLife....

I thought YarisWorld was a cut above all that?

If your lucky ;)

120hp @ the wheels is gonna take some head/valvetrain work.
120hp @ the flywheel might be doable with intake, exhaust, and tuning.
120hp @ the wheels could be easily done turbo too :D

I just want to know one thing: what octane booster/ funny potion is going to give me 30 hp, cause if i missed the boat on that product..I need to hop on.

Seriously though, where did you get 120hp from? Did you just add up all the suggested hp gains from the manufacturers based on your mods? Or do you have some dyno sheets?
