New Plugs and a Huge improvement!
Got some Bosch ir spark plugs model 9600. Wow! made a very big improvement in throttle response, and really feels like it's got more power.
First plug change that I know of, car has 85,000. miles. $22. delivered from rockauto.com. http://www.boschautoparts.com/SparkP...s/Iridium.aspx

No offense but i wouldn't put bosh in anything except german cars that are made to take them. Usually make import cars run like crap. You should be putting either NGK or Denso both are the oem manufacture for our car. It could be placebo effect or just that your previous plugs were a bit worn but you will get better performance with a OEM plug

You really think a plug knows who makes the engine? What an asinine thing to say. If you dont like my report, than either buy some Bosch 9600 plugs, and prove me wrong, or reply with some proof of your own past examples. Stating that german plugs do not work correctly in japanese engines is a very ignorant point of view.

I never tried Bosch Ir, but I have tried their Platinum Plus, +2 and +4. Man, they were crap. Lost MPG and power. These were on Japanese cars. I also had a bad experience with their warranty department for a water pump. I was a huge fan before, but never again.
But if their Ir line works, great for you, awesome! In general, NGK and Denso both offers dependable results. |

Relax Uber. Don't need to get defensive.
YarisSedan did say "no offense" in his post. It's great that the plugs work for you but calling posts made by other members asinine and ignorant just because they have a different point of view is uncalled for. |

I've been running NGK plugs for about 40 years. It's all I use in my motorcycles. But for the longest time, NGK was the only maker of bike plugs. I just went with the cheapest ir plug rockauto had. I did not expect to notice any change, I was/am shocked at the improved performance. I'm just sharing my findings, and do not care for others knocking those findings, when they have no clue, but just feel the need to post and run there mouth.

Uber, YarisSedan IS a car mechanic. I know him personally. He knows what he's talking about and has seen some stupid stuff that people put in their cars for saving a couple bucks here and there.
I've seen his pics from stupid car owners what they bring into his shop. Dont judge people if you dont know them, especially on the internet. Thanks. But do tell us how those plugs hold up in the long run, we'll all be waiting for your results. I'm always interested in new experiments. I wouldn't put Bosch spark plugs in the Yaris, but I do use a Bosch Oil filer and its been working awesome for the past 3 oil changes with ENEOS oil change. |

I was a Auto/bike mechanic for 15 years. i quit because a could make a bunch more money working on power generation. Plus cars are full of other peoples dirt.
So yarissedan could also take your advise about the internet. Bosch oil filters are made by Champlabs.
